I recently stayed at Forest Hills at Tala for my wife’s birthday, and from booking to check-out, the experience fell far short of what I expected for a premium-priced property.
Booking & Pre‑Stay Experience
My interaction with the booking team, including a staff member named Riya, was unsatisfactory. I was not greeted warmly, and basic booking details were not collected in one go, requiring multiple back-and-forth exchanges.
I had specifically requested a surprise cake arrangement in the villa for my wife’s birthday. This was not done at the agreed time; the cake was brought around 20 minutes later, which was disappointing given the occasion and the prior request.
Villa Condition & Value for Money
I paid close to ₹20,000 per night for this villa. Based on the condition I found, I do not feel it offers value even at a fraction of that price. There were visible marks and stains on the walls, Water inside the hair conditioner bottle, and stains in the bathtub. For a property positioned as a luxury resort, this level of upkeep is unacceptable.
Restaurant & Observed Hygiene Issues
At the restaurant, the menu card provided to us was torn, with damage on the corners that appeared consistent with rodent activity. This observation, combined with the overall impression, raised serious concerns about hygiene and pest management practices.
Overall
Aside from the scenic beauty and natural surroundings, I did not find other aspects of the property satisfactory. The service, room maintenance, and observed conditions do not justify the premium pricing.
Based on my experience, I would urge potential guests to think carefully before booking. If you do choose to stay here, I recommend inspecting the room thoroughly before accepting it and setting realistic expectations regarding service and upkeep.

Worst experience in so called luxury stay
1. First of all, the room was good, but the view doesn’t match with the images at all and was completely blocked by Restaurant. It was constantly loud outside, and because it was right outside the restaurant we had zero privacy and couldn’t go out at all.
2. The service was pathetic- hours to get food in restaurants, couldn’t umbrella in rainy season after calling multiple times, they had one cab to transport within the property but he wouldn’t help at all even after waiting for half an hour.
The occasion was completely spoilt because of the service and room. Wouldn’t recommend.

We had an absolutely wonderful stay at the resort.
What truly touched our hearts was their support during a medical emergency at night. The resort team acted immediately and took us to the hospital without any delay. They stayed supportive and made sure everything was handled smoothly. In that stressful moment, their care and responsibility meant a lot to us.
