One female staff member badly lets your team down

You have an amazing team at Hotel De Hallen apart from one bad egg that stands on the board behind your reception in the morning / early afternoons. She is off putting with her constant negativity, bad attitude and her sighing behind the counter. I witnessed countless negative interactions with both guests / colleagues throughout my stay when leaving + entering the hotel. She clearly doesn’t want to be there and is majorly off putting to guests that may want to return to your hotel with her being the first point of contact. I would like to add the Asian gentleman that worked the evenings / nights on the reception was brilliant, attentive and welcoming she could learn a lot from him. I would rather return to your sister hotel de vijsel rather than deal with her again.

Pobyt: lip 2026

The hotel rooms themselves were nice, small but serviceable. The breakfast was well done. The location was also very good. Some of the staff were also very helpful and courteous.
Upon checkin, however, we realized there had been a miscommunication and we were not given the rooms that we had requested via messaging and phone call. One gentleman tried to help but unfortunately the rooms were no longer available. We tried to make do with what we had.
But the next morning, we were accosted by a hostile front desk lady accusing me of being difficult and "trying to cause problems" I was only asking about the availability of breakfast and had no intentions of pursuing the room issue any further. I was holding my infant son and said repeatedly only that I had requested and been promised adjoining rooms. She was aggressive and confrontational and just kept saying nasty derogatory things. Finally I had to walk away because my son was in my arms and becoming scared and I was growing very uncomfortable. I told her I would speak to someone else about it later.
The next morning she apologized and said there had been a miscommunication. Which was appreciated. But I've never been spoken to in such a hostile manner by anyone at a hotel before and we were all surprised and shocked to experience it.

Lord of the flies

Excellent location, quality of the room and the bathroom was also very good. Good beds and very quiet. However, we had to return two time for checking in, because the room wasn’t ready. The staff was very kind, but there were not enough people at peak hours. Only one person during the times for checking in/out in high season. The system for self check in/out was not working properly. The room wasn’t ready covered with moths/flies. We must have killed at least 50, but they kept returning. Also there was a lot of hairs and dust on the floor. I would not suggest this to anyone else.

Little jewel in Amsterdam

Convenient to tourist attractions and restaurants but off the beaten path enough to ensure a restful sleep, we really enjoyed our stay.

The worst service I have received in a hotel in years.

TERRIBLE AND RUDE SERVICE. booking requests were not honoured and staff were either rude or just didn’t care at all. I requested to speak with a manager on 4 occasions to no avail. I would advise never booking here despite great location and property.
