Superb hotel in the heart of Soller

Very beautiful hotel, that kept the historical building. Amazing breakfast, that we were able to enjoy in the outside terrace. Always served with a smile and they were flexible on the time for breakfast (we managed to get it earlier as planned as we had to leave early). The room was very well furnished.

Such a cute hotel!

We had a great 2 day stay at this lovely and cute hotel in the heart of Soller. Would definitely stay again! Upon walking in, you are welcomed with such a clean and fresh smell with charming aesthetic all around. The hotel is very quiet and peaceful, yet convenient to everything.

Conveniently located and quirky.

Stayed as a couple for 6 nights in September 2018. See BettyBoop’s review as I can agree with many of her observations. In addition, we found the main entrance locked on our arrival. It was around 6pm, we were later than planned due to our Ryanair flight being delayed. We had been travelling for 13 hours. Eventually I found the rear of the hotel was open with access through the café run as part of the hotel. This was our only sight of Catherine who showed us to our room without any formalities. She had left us a note on the reception desk.
The other member of staff, Fleur, a lady from Peru, served breakfast and managed our other, few, requests as well as she could. We pointed out that we did not require the daily serving of ham at breakfast, but it came as standard each morning. Fortunately, the other items were more than adequate for us. Fleur’s daughter deputised on Sunday.
We had a largeish room with adequate en suite bath with shower over. I do not like shower curtains, but it sufficed. There were several electrical sockets and good Wi-Fi.
The large bed was comfortable.
The towels provided were poor quality and none were changed on the Sunday of our stay. The room floor had rather worn tiles and did not appear to be cleaned or even swept during our stay. The mini bar had beer, wine and soft drinks. A bottle of red or white wine cost 22 euros which had to be paid in cash on checkout.
The smart tv was not smart during our stay. Fortunately, we did not need it. Our room had a balcony which we never accessed as it was very narrow and overlooked a busy one-way street. There was sometimes noise early mornings due to the frequent garbage collections.
The soft furnishings, décor and artefacts around the Can Isabel were not to my taste, being somewhat dated no doubt in a Mallorquin style. A large painting behind the reception desk appeared to show a woman sitting in a boat and holding a dead baby!
Most guests appeared to stay only for one or two nights, and we never saw the same people more than twice at breakfast.
The hotel is very conveniently located for access to the main square and most restaurants and cafes. Also, it is close to the tram/train interchange. Conversely it is a ten-minute walk from the bus stop.
It’s likely we will visit Soller again as some relatives have recently relocated their business and home to the town. The good access to mountain walks is another plus point. Would I stay at this hotel again? This is a tricky question to answer. I would not rule it out but I would first look for something less quirky, and maybe a little cheaper.

Charming little place to stay

As soon as we arrived at this hotel we were charmed by the old building full of character and quirky ornaments everywhere in the reception area. The floor and wall tiles are beautiful and make the place feel very quaint and homely. There are six rooms here, each with its own name and character, they are all individual. Our room was the Azul room, which was painted dark blue and contained everything needed for a comfortable stay. The room faced the back of the hotel looking over the garden and towards the station. Trams also go from there, so you can hear them hooting as well as the church clock chiming the hour, it all felt very old fashioned but lovely. The bathroom was in keeping with the period theme and yet contemporary with a good walk in shower and plenty of space to put wash bags, toiletries etc. There was also plenty of space to put away belongings and clothes in the room, a good tv, air conditioning. The hotel is in a row of terrace houses, and the walls are quite thin. It was possible to hear the family staying next door who seemed to be a little noisy, but it all went quiet at night. Breakfast was taken in the pretty garden at the back, seated at wrought iron tables with gingham cloths and napkins. A really friendly Spanish lady brought out a cake stand with ham and cheeses on the top, and a little chopped fruit and some home made yoghurt on the bottom. There was also half a baguette each, a cooked egg to choice and a croissant and jam, plus fresh orange juice, tea or fresh coffee. It kept us filled up well into the day and we liked that it was served afternoon tea style, which added to the character of the place. The reception here is not manned but the nice lady doing the breakfast seemed very helpful and willing to assist in any way she could, although her understanding of English was not great. She helped us work out our television which the previous guest had left tuned into a radio station, and also took our payment by credit card on our last day. All in all we had a very nice stay here, and would definitely come back if we decided to return to Soller.
