Perfect Stay given the circumstances
First of all people must stop assuming realities are similar all over the world. The effort, expenses and investment a owner must have in Haiti are not the same as in Spain or Canada. Things are difficult. This said, I was super happy about my choice. It's so much nicer to stay in Milot than in Cap Haitien (which anyway can be easily visited anytime). I couldn't find anything looking reliable under 100 USD in the city. But found La Belle Maison and got a rate of about 60 USD. Including a tasty breakfast. And also, Milot is lovely, safe and picturesque village close to what most tourists are look for around here: the citadele.
Accommodation was humble but pleasant, I slept well, had Wi-Fi most of the time, and good communication in Spanish. Acceptable shower. Good food (but not varying) for dinner. Advice from Erick, the owner, who although is not phisically on the spot, is always there for you via Internet. Great host!

My stay at Belle Maison Hotel in Milot, Haiti was a nightmare. The rooms were infested with large, flying cockroaches, and there were mice running around in the kitchen—completely unsanitary. Air conditioning works for only 2.5 hours max; guests are told to use a fan. There are no couches or lounge areas, only uncomfortable wooden chairs throughout the hotel.
The manager unprofessionally banged on my door during my stay, demanding advance payment for meals, claiming the hotel couldn’t buy groceries otherwise. I explained that in proper hotels, guests pay at consumption or checkout. Most of the staff lacked basic hospitality skills, with the exception of Titus, who was kind, helpful, and professional despite limited resources.
The hotel falsely advertises free breakfast but charges extra for eggs—dishonest and misleading. Staff also gossiped about me waking up late and shared it with locals—an appalling violation of guest privacy. The showers are dirty and dangerous, requiring you to step over a huge cement block to get in. There’s barely any hot water, and power cuts are constant—you must keep asking staff to restore it.
Overall, this hotel is mismanaged, uncomfortable, and unprofessional. I do not recommend staying here under any circumstances. One of the worst travel experiences I've ever had.

AC/Power not strongest suit
I stayed 4 nights at La Belle Maison in Milot, Haiti. For my first time in Haiti I wanted to make sure that I picked a hotel that had AC (Air condition) and Power because I wanted to be most comfortable. When I arrived to La Belle Maison these were the first question that I asked or else I would not stay at the hotel. I was insured that the AC would be on all night and off during the day, however if I paid a little more the AC would stay on all day (somehow they have control of which room gets AC and which ones does not). I agreed on paying a little more because I know how I like my living conditions and I know that I want to make sure when I am hot my room is my comfort place to come and get some AC & Relax. My first day at the hotel AC was provided all day as informed by hotel management and front desk. Days 2-4 was a nightmare. Not only did they not leave the AC on all day as informed (AC was turned off everynight at about 1:30ish AM). The power would go off at least 5 times each night (Had to constantly tell them to turn on the AC…headache). Hotel reps would need to restart the generator to power everything back up. I enjoyed my stay in Haiti, and wish my hotel experience was a great one but unfortunately until they get the new generator or system to fix the power and AC issues as informed by Hotel manager, I will not come back to La Belle Maison. I wish that they had a working Hotel phone line for those calling in (Long distance) or at least have phones in the rooms for room service purposes. Going up and down flights of stairs to inform hotel representative of simple things as toilet paper or towels was a bit inconvenience. Breakfast was great, wifi signals were not strong in all rooms (for those that have to work). Fair well my beautiful country will be back again!
