Wonderful stay in Vyzitsa, Pelion

Glorious Peleys is a wonderful hotel/guesthouse run by a family. We stayed there for 6 nights and it felt a bit short as the area around has many things to offer. Vyzitsa is a good village to stay so as to explore the region. We adored the building (old castle house) and the way it was restored. The owner did the outdoors/indoors painting decoration of the castle and the result is pure magic. She has an amazing taste and artistic talent. If you love unique architecture this is your place! It feels that you are staying in a monument rather than a hotel. This for me is the definition of luxury. The rooms are spacious, with elegant furniture; beautiful wooden floors and painted wooden roof. The beds are also big (160 cm long). The breakfast terrace (open in the summer) is also wonderful. The breakfast itself is quite generous (we were unable to eat everything), fresh and tasty. The owners are very interesting and friendly people. Anna, their daughter is an excellent music composer and we have enjoyed listening to her compositions played in the common area. This is a place to return again and again!

A wonderful hotel for a magic holiday

To stay in this charming castle, full of history and embellished with fine objects and details, extremely well managed by Stereopoulou’s Family, means to be spoiled by delicious Maria’s healthy and hand-made breakfasts served with great care in the shade of a pergola; to be accompanied during excursions (on foot, in the magic surroundings woods, following centaurs’ footsteps; by car, for more demanding and far destinations, towards dreamy beaches or mystic sites) by the precious and detailed maps specially sketched for you by Nikos; to be gladdened (if lucky) by a sonata for piano played by Anna, talented composer... It is an experience absolutely to try not only once in life, but whenever you feel the need to hole up in a cosy and hospitable nest. If Pelion is a legendary and mythical peninsula, the Glorious Peleys Castle Hotel is a treasure well hidden in the secret casket of the little fairy-tale Vizitsa village.

Friendly accomodation, every need covered

Everything was excellent, they did even more than what we could demand, especially when I got sick. They made sure that nothing was missing for me and my family, even helped to take care of our baby. We had an amazing time.

Γραφική ομορφιά

Πανέμορφος ξενώνας στη Βυζiτσα στο Πήλιο. Απ' ότι έμαθα λειτουργεί από το 1990 και πιστέψτε με, σε πάει ακόμη πιο πίσω. Διακοσμημένο κι επιπλωμένο με μεράκι από την κα Όλγα και τον κ. Νίκο, θυμίζει αρχοντικό άλλης εποχής, σα σκηνικό παλιάς καλής ελληνικής ταινίας. Ολα ξύλινα, πεντακάθαρα, γεμάτα αναμνήσεις. Μην περιμένετε ανέσεις τύπου κλιματισμού, ψυγείου, ηλιακού θερμοσίφωνα. Εκεί δεν πάμε για πεντάστερες λεπτομέρειες, μα για ταξίδι σε άλλη εποχή. Πήγα για δουλειά κι έκανα διακοπές. Το πρωινό πλούσιο, όχι τυποποιημένο και με χαμόγελο σε ένα μοναδικό χώρο. Πολύ κοντά υπέροχες ταβέρνες. Χριστούγεννα με χιόνι θα είναι σούπερ!

Wunderschöne liebevoll hergerichtete Burg

Wir waren eine Woche Gäste bei Maria und Nikos. Am Ende der Woche fühlte es sich fast so an als würde man von seinen Eltern weg fahren. Vielleicht auch weil wir die einzigen Gäste waren ;-)
Es war wunderbar ruhig, das einzige das die Ruhe gestört hat war das Gebell der vielen Straßenhunde, die haben in manchen Nächten richtig los gelegt. Aber wir haben uns schnell daran gewöhnt. Wenn sonst kein Straßen- oder Menschenlärm vorhanden ist dann kann man das gut ertragen.
Ich könnte mir vorstellen dass es etwas lauter wird wenn alle Zimmer belegt sind da es durch die Holzböden und Türen sehr hellhörig ist. Aber das ist es wert. Die Burg hat jede Menge antike Gegenstände und anderes Interessantes das sie authentisch macht.
Vom Hotel aus kann man direkt loswandern, oder man fährt ein paar KM mit dem Mietwagen um an andere Orte zu gelangen. Sehr zu empfehlen ist die Wanderung von Milena nach Lafkos und zurück.
Das Hotel hat zwar keinen Pool, aber man ist schnell am Meer. Wer lieber flaches Wasser und Strandpromenade mag ist in Kala Nera gut aufgehoben. Aber so richtig toll fand ich die felsigen Strände auf der anderen Seite der Halbinsel, z.B. Fakista beach (vorsicht: Anstrengender Weg runter zum Strand) oder Lapidou beach. Es gibt aber jede Menge solcher kleinen Buchten.
Parken kann man eigentlich überall recht gut, am Hotel gibt es einen kleinen öffentlichen Parkplatz, aber wenn man sich an die Straße stellt sagt auch niemand was.
Jeden Morgen gibt es von Maria ein ordentliches Frühstück. Wenn man doch mal etwas vermisst hat man es spätestens am nächsten Tag auf dem Tisch.
Am vorletzten Abend hat Maria für uns ein
Festmahl gekocht. Das hat sie super gemacht und sehr liebevoll angerichtet. Die beiden haben wirklich maßgeblich dazu beigetragen das es einer der schönsten Urläube war.
