A beautiful gem with a magical view
we had a fantastic stay at Eva family run business Blue View Villas early June.
Situated on the slope of a hill, overlooking the bay and Stalidas was so beautiful and calming, as well on day as night time. We loved the place and the location as it is not far from Chersonissos Heraklion and Agios Nikolaos. The personal attention of Eva was the best. She provided us with all kinds of food and drinks, home made pastries and Raki. A must try while at Krete. Our little villa had a garden overlooking the bay which made our stay at night so romantic... sure we will come back for more

Blue View Villas Stay
We recently had the pleasure of staying in a Blue View Villas apartment for our holiday in Crete. The thoughtfully designed apartment block in Crete, and the experience exceeded our expectations. The accommodation was exceptionally comfortable, with a modern layout and well considered details that reflected both quality and care. The overall design of the building created a calm, welcoming atmosphere that made our stay particularly enjoyable.
From the outset, our host, Eva, provided an outstanding level of hospitality. Her warm introduction upon arrival immediately set a positive tone. She invited us to an introductory meeting where she shared valuable insights about the local area and offered a selection of traditional Cretan dishes. This gesture not only showcased the region’s culinary heritage but also made us feel genuinely welcomed.
Breakfast on our first morning was another memorable highlight. Eva prepared a selection of homemade and home grown products sourced from her mother, offering an authentic taste of Cretan tradition. The quality and freshness of these items added a personal and meaningful touch to the start of our stay.
Overall, the combination of well appointed accommodation and Eva’s exceptional hospitality made this visit truly special.

Million dollar views and incredible Cretan hospitality
We are Canadians and it was our first trip to Crete. We were looking for a comfortable self catering villa from which to visit the various beautiful attractions in East Crete, such as the Knossos Palace, the Archaeological Museum in Heraklion, Spinalonga Island and the town of Agios Nikolaos. We also wanted to visit the olive oil farm at the nearby Vassilakis Estates and do some hiking.
We found the Blue View Villas on several rental platforms and decided to rent their nicest villa, Villa No 7, based on the many excellent reviews.
The Blue View Villas consist of 6 lovely villas and are located on a hill overlooking the seaside town of Stalis and the Bay of Malia. The town of Stalis has a large number of shops, car rental agencies, some grocery stores, coffee shops, an excellent bakery and a large number of good restaurants. The town is about a 10 to 15 minute walk downhill from the villas. Since our visit was in early April, a few of the local restaurants were not yet open for the season. However, this was not at all an issue since there were quite a number of restaurants in Stalis that were open and also there are many fine restaurants within a 15 to 30 minute drive by car in Hersonissos, the pretty old town of Koutouloufari, in Heraklion and in Agios Nikolaos, for example.
The Blue View Villas are beautiful and very comfortable. Our villa, in particular, is spectacular and allows you to enjoy the magnificent view of the Bay of Malia from your own private patio. The photos on the Blue View Villas website are accurate and, if anything, our villa was even nicer than the pictures. It was spotlessly clean and had all of the things we needed for our stay. All of the appliances were relatively new and the king size bed was very comfortable. We loved sitting on the private patio for breakfast and enjoying drinks in the evening with a spectacular view of the lights of the town of Stalis below and of the Bay of Malia.
Perhaps, however, the best part of our stay was the incredible Cretan hospitality provided by Eva, the manager of the property and daughter of the owners of the property. She met us for our check in, showed us around our villa and then spent more than an hour with us and used a large map to describe the surrounding area and various restaurants and places that we might consider visiting. She also brought us a tray of assorted local Cretan food and snacks mostly cooked by her mother to welcome us to Blue View Villas. The following morning, Eva brought us a breakfast tray with lots of delicious items, many of them again made by her mother as well as some products from their family farm.
While we were there, Eva kept in regular contact with us to ensure that everything was fine and to provide us with any further information and advice we might need. This included booking a table for us for dinner at the excellent restaurant, Peskesi in Heraklion, when we encountered difficulties in doing so ourselves. Basically Eva is amazing and felt more like a good friend than a host.
All in all, our stay at the Blue View Villas was perfect for our first visit to East Crete. We hope to stay there again in the Fall of 2027, including because we have now discovered that the only golf course on Crete, the Crete Golf Club, is only a 15 minute drive from Blue View Villas.
The villas are just a 15 minute walk from the town of Stalis with only the last 5 minutes being a slightly steep uphill walk – something that truly rewards you with breathtaking views once you arrive.
We highly recommend staying at these villas to our family, friends and any other visitors to Crete.

Super clean room, maid came every few days and the service was excellent. Beautiful ocean view and extremely close to a very nice beach town. 10/10 would recommend

Amazing place to stay!
The villa was perfect for a couple, and the view was unmatched. Eva was a friendly and gracious host, and she gave us many homemade treats and goodies. Every recommendation she gave for restaurants and sightseeing was fantastic. Highly recommend!
