Such a gem!

Such a perfect week at this real gem of an apart/hotel. Its location is perfect….right on the beachfront (which is now permanently closed to traffic), a couple of minutes stroll along the promenade to the many wonderful tavernas and restaurants, plenty of shops for both gifts and practical necessities, a fascinating Archaeological Museum (amongst others) and the original fortress to visit, great views. Sitía is a ‘real’ town, not just a ‘resort’, which we loved. The hotel has its own beds on the beach directly in front, the cafe in the hotel can bring drinks/snacks over, as well as to the poolside. Relaxation heaven. Cannot emphasise HOW clean and well maintained the hotel is. A wonderful team of staff who reset the rooms each day to an IMMACULATE standard, the sheets are so clean and crisp and white. Communal areas are spotless. The cafe is cool, white and blue. Eric is a fount of local knowledge and helped us discover incredible walks through the local Gorges (via our hire car) and also other beaches. Flora and fauna of Crete are wonderful. This is very much a family run hotel, our preference over large resorts/all inclusives etc. You can tell people come back time and again.

Ideal hotel in perfect location

The hotel is situated right next to the beach - you just walk out of the door, cross a pedestrianised street, and you're on the sand. The town's cafes and restaurants are just 5-10 minutes' walk. There's also a decent swimming pool, and a parking area at the back.
Rooms all have a view - some more than others - and a small balcony with a couple of chairs and large rack for drying clothes.
The only deficiency is breakfast: it's not a buffet, you have a few 'set menu' options. The food is good, but a very limited choice, and all cold - certainly no English breakfast and not a typical Continental one either: no croissants, for example.
But the staff were all pleasant and Eric, the caretaker manager, couldn't have been more helpful.

Want to return to Sitia

Fantastic hotel!
Nice rooms with "real" kitchen.
Good storage in both room and bathroom.
Wonderful staff who did everything for our comfort.
Walk across a moderately busy street and you'll be on the beach right away.
If it's windy on the beach, stop by the hotel pool with comfortable sun beds and a pool without claws.
Everything is clean and fresh and it is cleaned out and inside all the time.
All rooms have a balcony facing the sea.

A lovely week!

We had a great week at Sitia Bay. The apartment is well planned and the kitchen is well equipped, coffee maker, kettle, toaster etc. The area is very clean and well maintained. The pool is quiet and comfortable, and the staff is friendly. The beach is across the street so the location is really perfect. Sun lounger and parasol 4,5 euros and then you get to choose a drink, very affordable. There are staff on the beach who take your order from morning to night, everything from drink, toast, baguette etc and deliver to your sun lounger. We are very happy with everything and the staff are very friendly and helpful! The view from the balcony is a big plus! We stayed in room 28!

Heaven on earth

Heaven on earth. Nice rooms. Perfect view. Very clean and tidy. Nice pool area with good sun beds. Beach across the street. Beach nice with sand. Water clear.
