Unforgettable hotel
From the moment we arrived, it felt like we had discovered a secret corner of the island. Nestled high above its own secluded cove, Milos Cove offers a level of privacy and tranquility that’s almost impossible to find. It truly feels like your own private paradise.
Our suite was breathtaking. The design perfectly blends luxury with the natural beauty of Milos, incorporating local stone and organic materials that make the room feel elegant without ever feeling overdone. The bedroom was upstairs, overlooking the turquoise Aegean Sea and the hotel’s private cove. Waking up to that view every morning honestly felt surreal. It was, without question, the most spectacular hotel view I’ve ever had.
The bathroom deserves its own paragraph because it was unlike anything I’ve experienced before. The shower was the best I’ve ever had in any hotel—powerful water pressure, two oversized rainfall showerheads that made it perfect for couples, and luxurious bath products that smelled incredible. It felt less like a hotel bathroom and more like a five-star spa.
The service was flawless. Every single person we encountered was genuinely kind, welcoming, and eager to make our stay unforgettable. You never felt like just another guest. The staff remembered us, anticipated our needs, and consistently went above and beyond. Lina and Vangelis stood out as two of the most thoughtful staff members I’ve ever met. Their warmth and hospitality elevated an already incredible stay into something truly special.
The setting is what makes Milos Cove completely magical. Because the hotel sits in a remote part of the island, you escape the crowds entirely. Many afternoons I had the private beach completely to myself—a luxury that’s nearly impossible to find in the Greek Islands during peak season. The silence, interrupted only by the sound of the waves, was pure bliss.
The private cove is, in my opinion, the most beautiful beach on Milos. Since it’s only accessible by hotel guests or by boat, it remains peaceful and pristine. The crystal-clear water is stunning, and the colorful volcanic rocks lining the shoreline are unlike anything we’ve seen before. Milos is rich in volcanic minerals, so every rock seems to have its own unique colors and patterns. Guests spent hours collecting and admiring them—it became one of our favorite unexpected memories from the trip.
One of our favorite experiences was taking a boat tour around the island. Thanks to the hotel’s private dock, our captain picked us up and dropped us off directly at Milos Cove. It couldn’t have been more convenient and made us feel like we were arriving by yacht to our own private resort.
The food deserves every bit of praise it receives. Breakfast was included and was exceptional—an abundant buffet paired with a full à la carte menu that was prepared to order. Every morning felt leisurely and indulgent. Dinner was hands down our favorite meal on the entire island. The restaurant sits dramatically atop the cliffs overlooking the cove and the endless blue Aegean Sea. On beautiful evenings, the retractable roof opens, transforming the restaurant into an open-air dining experience beneath the stars. Between the breathtaking views, impeccable service, and phenomenal cuisine, every dinner felt unforgettable.
Although we didn’t end up booking treatments, we toured the spa and immediately wished we had made the time. Designed to resemble an elegant obsidian cave, it felt peaceful, intimate, and unlike any spa we’ve seen before. I had planned to experience one of their signature bath rituals, but unfortunately ran out of time. Next visit, it’ll be the first thing I book.
Our private plunge pool quickly became one of our favorite places to relax. While it’s not heated, it was still refreshing and comfortable in early July. The staff cleaned it every day, and our patio—with lounge chairs, a dining table, umbrella, and uninterrupted sea views—became the perfect place to unwind with a glass of wine after exploring the island.
If I had to mention one downside, it’s simply getting there. The hotel is about 20–30 minutes from the port, Plaka, and most other destinations on Milos. The roads are narrow, mostly dirt, steep in sections, and not always well marked. I’d strongly recommend renting an all-wheel-drive vehicle and embracing the adventure. Surprisingly, what initially felt intimidating became part of the charm. Every drive back to Milos Cove felt like returning to a hidden sanctuary that very few people get to experience.
Milos Cove isn’t just a luxury hotel—it’s an experience. It’s the kind of place where time slows down, the crowds disappear, and every detail has been thoughtfully designed to make you feel completely at peace. Between the breathtaking setting, world-class hospitality, incredible food, beautiful accommodations, and the unforgettable private cove, this is one of the most magical places we’ve ever stayed. We only wish we had booked a longer stay.

Amazing stay!
Staff: The staff were incredible from the minute we first entered the property. When you check in you receive a private tour of the amenities. Shoutout to our girl Eva at the pool, she made our stay so fun and welcoming every day!
Pool/Beach: The pool is a beautiful infinity pool, overlooking the private beach, where you can sit in a two-person cabana or lounge chairs and order drinks and food. The private beach with chairs and umbrellas (that don’t provide much shade until later in the afternoon as an FYI) are a 5 min steep walk on gravel from the pool. You can also be driven up/down by the staff in a golf cart. Having a beach with a dock and ladder was a very nice addition so you don’t need to leave the property to swim in the Aegean.
Breakfast: Breakfast was a decent mix of cold buffet and made-to-order eggs each day. The baked eggs were our favorite.
Restaurant: We went to the restaurant a few nights of our stay and it was never crowded (one night we were the only ones there) and we were always taken good care of by the staff. Highlights were the bread basket, carpaccio, truffle pasta, and their homemade ice cream. Our only suggestion would be to switch up the menu more often/have specials so it might be more enticing for people to stay and eat there rather than have to drive 20+ minutes to restaurants on the island. That said the food and service were fantastics and what you would expect at a 5 star hotel.
Spa: We booked a 60 minute couples massage + obsidian bath ritual for 50 mins. The staff and therapists were lovely for the massage part but we did not realize that the obsidian baths we would be in separate baths and it’s in a somewhat public area so people were using the sauna/steam room and we would hear their conversation. The baths are somewhat uncomfortable/we kept slipping around from the massage oil so could not fully relax. I would instead book a longer massage and skip the baths!
Other Thought: Consider revitalizing the website and add better pictures. We originally were booked at another hotel on Milos and due to construction they rebooked us here. We originally chose the other hotel over Milos Coves simply because the Milos Cove website was bare bones and the pictures of the accommodations, restaurant, pool, beach, etc. did not seem to meet 5 star property. Ironically, they all did and the real-life is better than pictures so all worked out but just a recommendation.

5 Star Price - 3 Star Reality!
Let me start with the positives. It is absolutely a beautiful view from the restaurant – no doubt about it. The staff are very helpful and does the best they can with what they have to work with. The wait staff, housekeeping, etc. are friendly and attentive. The place is clean. And I enjoyed my food experience.
Now to the challenges: it starts with check-in. The “lobby” is literally a black room with a large rock with a hologram on it (felt Jurassic Park to me). Almost impossible to see given the heavy sunlight outside – not warm or welcoming at all. You are asked at check-in if you want your towels replaced every day (huh – 5 star?) The gym is a joke...old equipment and again I called it the “black box” with zero windows and nice dungeon experience.
The rooms – have you ever had glass ceilings and therefore floors in the upstairs/downstairs in your life? Well you have that here for some reason. Literally the floor separating downstairs from upstairs in the middle of the room is glass - people in the room downstairs can see the people in the upstairs when they are naked getting ready, walking out of the shower, etc. Huh? Oh and the first-floor rooms are blessed with windows into the bathroom that can be seen from outside walkers. Imagine showering and having a casual walker be able to literally walk by and see you naked in the shower. Was this a swingers place back in the day?
The location is remote, which is good and bad. Some might say that is romantic and to an extent it is. However, it is at least 30 minutes from everything else on the island. And to get anywhere you need to be ready for some real bumpy roads in an out (you are driving by the way since there are no Uber’s/taxis). The last mile in and out is a VERY hilly unpaved road. Enjoy!
In summary, this is a 5-start price tag with 3-star amenities at best. If you are looking for 5-start this is not it.

Extremely far from anything and disappointing food
Some of the worst food we’ve ever had at a hotel. Expect things like burgers, pizza and €20+ drinks. The hotel is also 30+ minutes drive from ANYTHING in Milos with taxi prices being €70-100 each way.
