Gorgeous stay

We stayed for only two nights (unfortunately) in this hotel. We had a great time. The hotel is a few meters from a white beach with a stunning sea. The sea view room was very clean and comfortable. An added value to the stay is the owner Lena. Kindness and friendliness that always make you so happy on holiday. If we can we will return

Pretty poor

I think all the positive reviews are from about 10 years ago... unfortunately the hotel no longer looks like it used to. We had a room with a small terrace overlooking the sea, so I can't really say anything about the location, it's simply wonderful, given that Diakofti beach is one of the most beautiful on the island. Unfortunately everything else is very decadent and makes you think that the Notara hotel must have once been a truly beautiful structure. Our room, although paid 140 euros per night, was quite shabby, so if we return to Kythira (wonderful island!!!) we will definitely avoid the Hotel Notara.

Booked a day, stayed a week. Simply exceptional.

Where do I even start? We booked one night and ended up staying a week! And if we could, we would have stayed longer. The rooms are all lovely, but the sea view room is absolutely breathtaking. The beach which the hotel is next to is by far the best beach on the island and the facilities are amazing. The staff and the owner? A whole different league! Greek people are probably amongst the friendliest in the World, but everyone at Notara is just simply amazing! There is not a thing that they will not help you with. And finally the breakfast. Even during the COVID19, they are keeping their standards extremely high; the food is delicious and orange juice is just magnificent. And never have I had breakfast closer to the sea. Because of this stunning view, the breakfasts never took less than 2 hours. Oh and the Island... yes it is small and you will not find the kind of Crete parties, but the place is fantastic for a romantic gateway.

Bad attitude!

We came in Notara with 3 small children for a breakfast and because of the very windy weather we wanted to seat inside! They refused us for no reason and more even empty hall and told us to seat outside or to go to another restaurant . On this place there are only two restaurants for a breakfast, as one of them is Notara. It was so rude and uncomfortable to feel unwanted. Not recommend them!

[For the restaurant] Substandard in every aspect

The hotel’s restaurant (?) benefits from a great waterfront location. That is pretty much the only positive. The service is very unprofessional and appears disoriented and borderline indifferent. The snacks are adequate. Perhaps the biggest problem is that management has not decided if this is a cafe, taverna or souvlaki restaurant. Wouldn’t recommend it for anything more than coffee, maybe even ice cream.
