Great stay in Accra
I had a great visit to Accra, Ghana. It was my first time on the continent of Africa and I'll definitely be back. The hotel was in a very convenient location and was excellent. The lobby and sitting areas were welcoming and a great place to relax with friends. We were lucky enough to be on the 6th floor (executive suite), which gave is access to the lounge. The food was delicious and the service was fabulous. George was very attentive and professional attended and we looked forward to seeing him for dinner service. Mary also made a superb cup of coffee. I would definitely recommend staying here.

Great staff, Room needs upgrades
Let me preface this by saying I have stayed in Movenpick Aswan and Marrakech. I love the Movenpick brand which is why I was a bit disappointed in Accra. Now, let me be clear, the service was impeccable. From the beginning to the end of my stay, the staff were exceptional. They were attentive, polite and accommodating. Darlington and Isaac ensured every time I stepped in the lobby, I was greeted with a smile and escort if needed. Central location. Breakfast was just OK, nothing spectacular. However, room disappointing. Did not feel like a 5 star hotel room. The room, furniture and its amenities were very dated (think 3 star). There was a minibar refrigerator there but it would have been nice to have a small refrigerator and/or microwave for daily use. (I stayed 9 days). The detachable bathroom shower arm was noisy and the hose would become loose. The room also felt a bit smaller than my other Movenpick stays, same rooms (king size suite). Overall, good experience, room disappointment.

Best breakfast in Accra
Chef vivian allways makes sure we start our day with the best breakfast ever. Wether its international or local food, she delivers a 5 star breakfast!!!!!

It was very expensive for what was offered. The first room they offered me was mildewed and dirty. The second room at least didn’t have a horrible stench but was just so-so. For 400 a night I was expecting better service. Check in was slow and my daughter and I were the only people using the pool and they still wouldn’t give us an extra towel when we asked. Also- I had a notarized note to be able to travel with my daughter solo because my spouse had to work. The hotel still wanted a letter specific for their hotel and a copy of her birth certificate. I had never heard of that but they originally said there was no way we could stay on the property and they wanted to send us away at 7 o’clock to try and find a new place. This is after having booked a room at 400 USD a night for 5 nights. So overall my experience wasn’t great but my daughter loved the pool and the breakfast buffet was nice and the service there was excellent.
