An unforgettable stay in the gorgeous french countryside

Our stay at The Chanceliere was an absolute dream. Every room and hallway is filled with charm that gets better and better as you make your way through the home. We were treated to aperitif on the patio around 4pm and a lovely classic breakfast in the morning. The dogs are a joy as well. We will truly never forget this experience, and we cannot thank the hostess enough.
I could say a million things about how much we loved this place, but see for yourself — not only in all of the gorgeous photos, but book a stay to see this masterpiece in-person!

I wouldn't stay here again!

We stayed here for one night as a stop over on the way back to the UK.
We stayed here on a Monday night & were the only guests. The free parking advertised is in fact street parking near to the property which isn't either guaranteed or secure. My car contained some valuable Bordeaux reds & the owner kindly agreed to park the car inside the grounds, but this would be impossible with other guests.
The house itself is charming & the breakfast is plentiful & very good.
The owner is a charming lady & served us some nice wine on the sunny veranda in the evening.
The house isn't in Sancerre. That's approximately 3 km away up a hill. Restaurants nearby are limited, especially on a Monday.
Finally the owners dog bit be for no apparent reason. Luckily I was wearing jeans.
Overall, not a great stay at a quite hefty price point for offering.

We strongly recommend to take a few nights here. A fantastic place and a warm and welcoming host. Beautiful terrasse where breakfast is served. While you enjoy your coffee you have a vie over winefields and to the top of the hill Sancerre itself. Thanks for two great days in Saint-Satur and Sancerre.

What a wonderful stay we had! Nicole the hostess was lovely . The breakfast was superb! We made little sanwiches for our lunch with the bounty! Felt like we were staying in a beautiful part of history and close to everything!

We wondered if we were in the right place because signage is minimal. But once Nicole met us warmly, we discovered her charming home. History and art fill every corner.
Our bedroom and bathroom was clean and spacious. Mattresses were firm, and linens were comfortable. However, on the second floor facing the street early morning traffic could be heard from a block away. We had to keep the windows open because there is no air conditioning. The cool night saved us though.
A delicious breakfast was served on the lovely terrace with a beautiful view of Sancerre. This is the place to linger and savor the surroundings.
All in all we enjoyed our time at Chancelière and we would happily return for another stay especially in cool weather.
