Don’t Overlook This Timeless Gem of a Hotel.
I absolutely love this hotel and ALL of the wonderful restaurants, cafes, and shopping options! I plan to make annual visits here and stay longer than our 4 days. Stephen was an AMAZING host and was so respectful and fun to chat with. It is the best value in Paris if you ask me❤️

Ok for Solo Travelers but has Some Kinks
Adorable room in a great location. However, there were a few issues.
A) I was initially going to come with someone else and do 2 twin beds. But the rooms are very, very small, so you can only be solo. Two people would not be able to fit in the room with 2 suitcases. I could barely walk around mine. In addition, the closet is a small armoire, so there is no luggage rack.
B) There is no bath—only a shower—and the shower is a bit dangerously slippery. So make sure to hold on getting out. Another issue is there is no shelf for your soap or personal items. In addition, depending on the time of day, you have to run the shower for a while—about 3-5 mins—to get hot water.
C) Breakfast is barebones and too expensive. I was charged $16 for a croissant, a roll, and a tea. It would be better to eat out.
D) The staff were affable. But I requested a wakeup call for my last day and did not receive one. I would've missed my plane home, if I had not woken up in the middle of the night and thought to set my phone alarm as an extra precaution. This was
sloppy on the part of the staff and could've cost me over $1000, if I had gotten stuck in Paris.
E) And finally, the elevator. The elevator is oddly placed on the side of a spiral staircase where you have to step back down the stairs to open the door to get in. Then when you get off, you have to maneuver backward down the stairs to close the door and walk up to your floor. This can be disorienting and is slightly dangerous, especially if you have luggage. It takes a bit of getting used to.
All that said, the location is great and near a major subway and my room was very quiet. I suggest staying on the courtyard rather than the street with the terrace because it may be too noisy. The rooms are quaint and affordable once you get used to the kinks and if you are a solo traveler.

We're glad you enjoyed the location and that your room was quiet. On the wake-up call, we're truly sorry. There's no excuse and we know how stressful that must have been. We've addressed it with the team.
Regarding the shower, we do have bath mats available at reception, we just wish you had let us know during your stay so we could have brought one up straight away. That's exactly what we're here for. The same goes for any other concern, our team is always happy to help but we can only do so if guests come to us. It's always a shame to read about issues after checkout that we could have easily sorted out at the time.
On the hot water, it does take a little while in old Parisian buildings like ours. We'll make sure to mention it at check-in.
On breakfast we hear you, we're working on improving the offer.
As for the elevator, had you mentioned it was an issue we would have been happy to move you to the first floor. No elevator needed, problem solved!

We really enjoyed our stay at the New Orient Hotel. The room was small, but very comfortable, spotless, and well air-conditioned. The bed was exceptionally comfortable, and the hotel was peaceful and quiet, allowing us to get a great night’s sleep every night.
The breakfast was excellent, with a great selection of fresh, high-quality items, and the staff was warm, friendly, and always happy to help.
The location is another big plus. The hotel enjoys a prime setting in the charming Europe district, within easy walking distance of Saint-Lazare Station, Galeries Lafayette, and Printemps, and just moments from the delightful Batignolles neighborhood. It also provides convenient access to Montmartre, making it an ideal base for discovering the many treasures of Paris.
We would gladly return and highly recommend it.

Super staff, super clean, super cool! Excellent A/C kept us cool & comfortable during a heat wave. There was plenty of space - we had 2 beds close together w/enough room on both sides to open our suitcases. A hanging wardrobe and small safe. Cute decor & a juliet balcony. Clean spacious updated bathroom with expected amenities. You will have to carefully navigate a narrow steep set of stairs to the elevator. Great boulangerie a few steps away, and a small grocery directly across the street. Very quiet! Loved it here - would def stay again.
