Wonderful stay
My daughter and I stayed at Hotel Ernest and we had a great time. From the very beginning, the staff proved to be very friendly and attentive to all our needs.
Very close to the M7 metro stop.
The room, of medium size, was spotless. Kudos for the mattress and pillows, which were really comfortable: despite the room facing the street, we slept wonderfully at night without being disturbed by any noise. The bathroom is minimal but functional, with a very spacious shower.
Finally, the breakfast: rich, varied, and delicious. Highly recommended!

Good location but negatives outweighed the positives for me
The staff were pleasant and friendly, the room was a good size, and the location of the hotel good but there are three reasons I could not recommend this hotel:
1. My room was on the 5th floor and there is no lift. I was travelling light and am fit but it was no fun to have to climb stairs.
2. In a heatwave the hotel room was a furnace. The air con isn't effective at all and the room was boiling. A fan was supplied but this only moved hot air around. I didn't sleep the first two nights as it was so hot.
3. The lack of a fire escape from the top floors. I always check out the fire escape route in a hotel and was shocked that the (beautiful) wooden stairway is the only means of escape. My room had a window ledge that I could have tried to walk along onto a roof if there was a fire, but I would not have wanted to try this in an emergency. Had I not prepaid, I would have checked out and found somewhere else.
This is a very small hotel, and although the room is quite big for Paris standards, I unfortunately won't be booking again for the reasons above.

Ah, the classic Parisian hotel experience — and Hotel Ernest delivers it in full, for better and for worse.
The photos look fantastic, and the hotel itself is charming enough in person. But if you're expecting the rooms to match what you see online, prepare to recalibrate. The rooms are genuinely tiny — even by Paris standards. Unpacking a large suitcase becomes something of a puzzle, and moving around requires a little creativity.
That said, this is Paris, and central Paris at that. Small rooms are practically a rite of passage, and once you accept that you're essentially paying for the location and the postcode, it's hard to be too upset about it. For what you get — a decent place to rest your head in one of the world's great cities — the price-to-location ratio is reasonable enough.
If you're spending most of your time out exploring the city (which, let's be honest, you should be in Paris), the size of the room matters a lot less. Just pack light, keep your expectations in check, and you'll have a fine stay.

Great little hotel
A nice little hotel , very clean , a nice decor , well placed . Room lacking storage though. Good service with a very good varied breakfast. You have to review the doorbells, which are too hard. We'll be back.

New Year in Paris
Small but honest hotel... judging by the exterior you would never actually enter the rooms are normal and breakfast is more than enough.
