French Riviera Heaven
It is very rare that I write a review of a trip - but there are times when the excellence of the experience compels me to share with others the sheer joy that my wife and I shared at sous l'Olivier. Its location high above Menton made for a quiet, cool and relaxing stay - my wife stated that she has never been so relaxed or slept so well - she is a Yoga teacher.... Breakfasts were a real highlight, healthy, fresh and interesting. We chose to fly to Nice, where we were collected by Jeremie, who transported us to the hotel, where an unexpected and delicious impromptu meal had been prepared - even though due to flight delays it was after midnight - Merci Lucie. So wonderful to visit a place and come away having made new friends. Such an antidote to the anonymous formula holiday experiences usually meted out. Our regards to 'Offy' the cat who is one cool dude. We look forward to returning and perhaps sharing our experience with our children, just completing their University studies - watch this space..

Bad experience
The outdoor setting is really nice and peaceful, with a beautiful garden, olive trees and a small pool. However, I was disappointed by several points: the bed was uncomfortable, which caused me back pain, the room was not very clean and the breakfast did not match the photos of the site at all. Moreover, little contact with the owner throughout the stay, which made the Welcoming impersonal. With more attention to comfort and relationship with guests, this address could better reflect its beautiful setting.
Overall I remain disappointed with my stay at this address.

Nice setting but disappointed with Service.
Rating stay at the bed and breakfast Sous L'Olivier was disappointing overall, despite a pleasant and quiet setting. While the natural charm of the place is undeniable, I would like to highlight several points that I do not think reflect the very flattering reputation of the establishment.
Welcoming and Service lack professionalism, which gives the impression of improvisation and undermines the overall experience. In addition, some of the advertised services are not at the expected level, making the value for money questionable. It should also be noted that the collection was done on arrival and not at the start which seems quite surprising to me. In addition, we would like to highlight the obvious lack of presence of the owner of the premises, which indicates a clear lack of professionalism.
It is also important to note that although the place is peaceful, it is very off-center and access is particularly difficult due to an impractical and very winding road, which can be a brake for some travelers.
In summary, despite the beauty of the environment, rating experience was below our expectations and absolutely not up to what we were entitled to expect and this despite the goodwill of the manager of the establishment who sometimes gives the impression of being overwhelmed by the management of her guest rooms.
I hope these constructive comments will help the institution improve the quality of its services.

Real family home!
What a joy to arrive in this house where we are welcomed like members of the family. Lucie and Jérémy are warm, spontaneous, and take great care of their guests. Thanks to them.
the room is comfortable, tastefully furnished.
The breakfasts accompanied by homemade jams, pancakes, cakes following Lucie's inspiration are copious, varied and tasty.
There is nothing more to say, you just have to hurry and discover this place.

Mixed feelings. Pretty as a picture but too far away and too noisy to make it value for money.
Very pretty place with beautiful gardens, lots of attention of aesthetics, lovely ornaments and artwork everywhere. The Serena room in the property is quite humid and shaded so difficult to air or dry bath or beach towels. Rather a lot of cobwebs and dust-piles on skirtings, lights, behind doors and ceilings, small things like the dirt in the fridge and the stains on the shower curtains were off putting. However the bed was very comfortable and were it not for the gigantic construction site next door we may have rested better, they start early and go all day. Lucie the host is lovely and relaxed and very welcoming and knowledgeable about the area with great tips on where to eat and visit.
Its a steep hike of about 20 minutes down to the village with many steps and a short Uber ride back up for about €12.
