Good look at authentic French hotel

Enjoyable experience of French rural hotel at its best ...friendly staff good breakfast, cycle friendly bikes stored away in outbuilding at the back of hotel. Beautiful setting pretty hard to beat. Well worth a visit.

disappointed

gentleman a little rude initially - hotel very nice rooms clean, facilities great, however if you don't like french cuisine do not go here
we travelled 300 miles on motorbikes, we did not want this type of food and asked for the set menu
we were refused, we asked for cheese and biscuits or baguettes - again refused - though the lady did her best
nothing in the village open and so to bed without an evening meal
if ever you come to yorkshire we promise you , you will not leave hungry and would always have a warm welcome, you should learn from us

Best Hotel in Cucuron

This hotel was our 4 night base to exploring Luberon. Location is the best you can get in Cucuron: right by the Etang that is the heart and main attraction of Cucuron. Behind the hotel there is the free private parking they offer. Our room was the largest we had in France, though simple it is very clean, with a large nice bathroom. There is air conditioning, minibar and good wifi. The view from the room overlooking L'Etang was amazing. We did not have breakfast at the hotel. Very close you have everything you might need: supermarket, bars, restaurants, Tuesday market right by L' Etang and pastry shops. This hotel was the best (out of six) we had during our Provence holiday.

Our favourite French place to stay

Cucuron itself is very special: it has red-tiled old houses in an historic town with narrow streets, many restaurants and shops, with beautiful countryside surrounding it for country strolls,and interesting places to visit near by in the Luberon mountains and beyond, but most alluring is the large artificial pool, surrounded by plane trees, where this hotel is situated.
It is a small hotel, very clean and friendly. Our bedroom overlooked the pool but was quiet even when there was the weekly market, thanks to the double glazing and shutteres.
The host and hostess make you very welcome. Their excellent breakfast, served outside if you like it, has breads and croissants, fresh fruit, yogurt, fruit juice, croissants, a choice of jams and honey and the best coffee we had in France. Outside is a small garden space with tables and loungers, and a private locked car park. This was our third visit and we want to go back.

Coming back again this year

Perfect location to visit the region, as only a few mins drive from lourmarin, gordes and all of the amazing villages. Cucuron itself is a place that we simply have to come back to every year! We are addicted to the relaxed atmosphere where you can just zone out completely! The people that run the hotel are very friendly and there is a car park around the back which is perfect.
