The good life above the city of Carcassonne...
This is the signature of a beautiful French-style house. The taste in decor, the cleanliness of the premises, the kindness and professionalism of the owners, and the icing on the cake, the exceptional view of the city of Carcassonne... I salute you.

Highly recommend - more than just a room
An amazing place to stay!
Jean yves and serge are great hosts who went above and beyond what you would expect from a B&B.
Jade chambre was spacious and spotless.
Mornings started with a beautifully presented home made breakfast on the terrace overlooking the castle. Fresh made smoothie’s, bread and pastries. Eggs the chickens.
A dip in the pool is a must. Never busy and great for relaxing, alongside lots of areas in the garden. We were offered complimentary ice water and nibbles, drinks and food could also be requested.
We had dinner 2 nights- all home cooked, vegetables picked from the garden and on a level with fine dining restaurant, but very reasonably priced.
Although outside of La Cite, it is only a 10 minute walk to gare, canal or town and 20- 30 minutes to castle. A little uphill on return, but taxi is easy to arrange.
Really good value for money if you want somewhere to stay that is more than just somewhere to sleep for the night. It felt more like a five star resort.

A brilliant pearl
Back home...and already missing Cambre avec vue.We have visited several places in France...but oh oh, this is a real gem and exceeds all expectations. The magnificent view over the old town of Carcassonne, never ceases to amaze. We loved the beautifully decorated room, the pool in the amazing garden. But the highlight was the Royal breakfast:) Jean-yves and Serge you are fantanically lovely people and did everything to make us feel at home, give tips for trips etc. In short; a wonderful week. Simply the best - no faults, no issues, just pure excellence and charming hosts
So the story is...although retired, we were tired and exhausted having finally readied our home for sale in the UK and looking forward to some R&R. Having run a B&B ourselves and winning the best in the UK in 2023, we are frequently disappointed in where we stay and are very picky and keen-eyed critics... unfortunately, there was nothing we could find but excellence at Chambre avec Vue in Carcassonne. Jean Yves and Serg were charming, attentive hosts throughout, delivering wonderful dinners and expansive breakfasts with homemade brioche, jams, excellent smoothies and fresh eggs from Jean Yves' newly acquired chickens. Their rooms are spotless, with comfy beds, A/C and fine art and objet d'art throughout.
Their garden is beginning to bloom into a fantastic space in the short time they have owned the property, with many areas to hide away and read, or to enjoy a glass of wine with friends or other guests. A superb swimming pool with a view of the castle at Carcassonne on the horizon. The B&B is a short walk from the railway station which connects to Narbonne and Toulouse, which is nice to visit when the weather prohibits sunbathing by the pool. The bus is also a short walk away to Mirepoix, which has a bustling market on a Monday.
Of course, Carcassonne castle is a must to visit while in this charming city, but it is difficult to leave the B&B behind, which on a sunny day is an oasis of calm and interspersed with many laughs with our interesting hosts. The dinners Jean Yves provides are a level above what is found in the town's restaurants and with Serg as the sommelier providing local wines at exceedingly good value, it is tempting not to leave...sadly, eventually we had to, and now we sit back at home in England with grey skies above, we are already reminiscing about our stay at this exceptional place while we write this review.
So often, one is left with 'I wish they could have had that, or done this' but not here - the boys have done good in every aspect. If you can get in while they are still relatively unknown (and of course, we appreciate that we are not helping with this review) - get booking now!

Very nice experience
A magnificent house renovated with great taste, an incredible view of the City of Carcassonne, a vegetable garden and beautiful plants around the pool ... Welcoming of the owners was very friendly, delicious breakfast (homemade brioche coming out of the oven...), quality bedding, cleanliness at the top. A bubble of well-being! We'll get back to it!
