Carcassonne Townhouse is a must stay!

Superb location within easy reach of both parts of the city and close to the bus stop for the airport shuttle bus. Beautiful house and rooms, bursting with French charm and character. Delicious breakfast and attentive host. We loved this stay.

Some adjustments to be made.

So... to find us, house with 2 trees... it is actually 2 scraggly shrubs... room and bathroom of nice size and very comfortable bed. The breakfast is decent but the portions are as scraggly as the trees. The garden, as well as the chairs and tables, could really use a thorough cleaning... as for the housekeeping over 3 nights, only the towels were changed (bed not made, no vacuuming, trash not emptied). Positive point, our host is very pleasant.

Beautiful townhouse in a fabulous location

Superb location, a short walk away from the foot of the castle walls. Rooms were spacious and clean, and the breakfast was plentiful, offering a slight difference in produce every morning which was a lovely touch.
Rachel and Mark were exceptional hosts, nothing was too much and their local restaurant and bar recommendations were on point. I could not fault this place if I tried, so if you’re planning a trip to Carcassonne then this townhouse is the place for you.

Perfect base for a walking tour of Carcassonne, old & new.

We stayed at the Carcassonne Townhouse for two hot nights in early July just as the Tour De France was preparing to depart town. We even managed to find street parking near the hotel despite the Tour De France crowds. The Townhouse is located in a perfect location, just across the bridge from the Citadel if you want to explore the old town & walking distance to everything that modern Carcassonne has to offer. Mark was a gracious host & gave us some excellent restaurant recommendations as well one for pre-dinner drinks (the outdoor bar of the Hotel de la Cite in the Citadel !) The Townhouse is not air-conditioned but benefits from having shutters on all the windows & being a row/terraced house in the old town where the streets are narrow & keep the sun out. We were there in a heatwave with daytime temperatures over 100 but still slept soundly. The rooms are nicely furnished, with comfortable beds & are provided with powerful fans & in the morning it was wonderful to throw open the windows & shutters & let in the cool morning air. Breakfast was simple ‘continental’ style but good quality, with fresh pastries & fruit. A great value for money stay in a convenient location.

Fab few days to celebrate anniversary

Our 3rd year staying and still does not disappoint. Rachel makes you feel comfortable, friendly atmosphere and is happy to help booking restaurant reservations, taxi, so helpful in letting you know what's going on etc. Would not hesitate to recommend. Great location, great view of the walled city to see the fireworks on Bastille Day, great rooms and serviced daily.
