Enjoy my stay at the hotel and the personnel was great and enjoyed the conversations and options. The restaurant meal options was good and also relaxing at the pool.

Stunning location, but badly let down by a tired and poorly managed hotel

This is a frustrating hotel to review because the location is genuinely spectacular. Being on an island in the Nile, surrounded by beautiful views, and getting a boat to and from your hotel should make this a really special place. The gardens are attractive and well maintained, the rooms are a good size, and the setting is easily the best thing about the hotel.
There are also some excellent members of staff. The lady who checked us in was superb and continued to check on us throughout our stay. The bar staff were good, as were several of the restaurant staff. Our room was cleaned well and the laundry service was excellent. Food and drinks are also very reasonably priced, and staff generally are friendly.
Unfortunately, that's where the positives largely end...
The overriding impression is of a resort that has been allowed to become tired, dated and poorly managed. I appreciate we visited out of season, so I wasn't expecting a busy resort, but at times the place felt almost like a ghost hotel. It lacks atmosphere and energy and, despite there seeming to be a large number of staff around, there is a strange sense that very little is actually happening.
The biggest problem is the sheer number of little things that are wrong. Individually, you could probably shrug most of them off. Put them all together and they make for a poor experience.
The air conditioning was a particular problem. Initially the air conditioning in our room was just about adequate, but on our final night it seemed as though the AC throughout the hotel wasn't working properly. We complained and were told it would be sorted, but it wasn't. The room was uncomfortably hot and we slept terribly as a result.
Our room door also didn't close properly, meaning the cleaners inadvertently left it open after cleaning. We did report this to reception. The safe didn't work either, which isn't exactly reassuring when combined with a room door that doesn't shut properly.
Then there are the really basic things. On our final morning there wasn't even any milk powder in the room to make a coffee. That's obviously a tiny issue in isolation, but it rather summed up our stay. When you're already tired after barely sleeping because the air conditioning isn't working, finding that you can't even make the morning coffee provided in your room becomes another irritation on an increasingly long list.
The pool area was also disappointing. One member of staff made comments that left us feeling uncomfortable, while another spent periods playing things loudly on his phone. There was nowhere obvious to get a drink around the pool until quite late in the day. One of the pools looked dirty enough that we decided not to use it.
The sunbeds are awful and kept collapsing. There are also permanent covered structures around parts of the pool which provide plenty of shade but mean there is no option to actually sunbathe in those areas.
We were also charged for using the pool table without anybody telling us there was a charge. To be fair, after we raised this, the member of staff came back the following evening and refunded the charge, which we appreciated. The table itself, however, was terrible – it had such a significant slope that the balls would literally roll across it by themselves.
Food was another disappointment.
Breakfast was actually reasonably good, but the other food ranged from average to poor. Our final night's dinner perhaps summed it up: not terrible, just an incredibly bland, tasteless pizza that reminded me of something from the Tesco Basics range.
Perfectly edible, but certainly not what you'd expect from a hotel of this supposed standard.
Interestingly, we found the female members of staff generally seemed noticeably more switched-on, proactive and helpful than the men. There are plenty of staff around, but the hotel often gives the impression of having lots of people working without enough organisation, direction or attention to detail.
I'm sure the hotel could respond by saying that we should have complained about more of these things during our stay. We probably could have. We did complain about some of the more significant issues, including the door and the air conditioning. But ultimately I'm here on holiday, not to carry out a quality assurance inspection of the hotel.
If I had reported every broken, missing, dirty, dated or poorly organised thing we encountered, I'd have spent a significant part of the holiday complaining at reception. And many of the problems aren't things reception could immediately fix anyway. Guests shouldn't have to identify every problem before a hotel notices them.
That's really the story of Pyramisa Island Hotel. There wasn't one enormous disaster. It was the accumulation of so many smaller failures that eventually became impossible to overlook.
And that's a real shame, because the fundamentals are fantastic. The location is extraordinary, the views are beautiful, the grounds are lovely and there are some genuinely excellent members of staff. With significant investment, better maintenance and much stronger management, this could be an outstanding hotel.
At the moment, though, it feels like a once-impressive resort that has been forgotten about by those responsible for running it.

awful customer service

Our experience with Pyramisa Island Hotel Aswan was extremely disappointing.
We had a reservation through Booking.com for January and, for more than two months, we repeatedly tried to contact the hotel by email, through the Booking.com messaging system, and by phone. We had a very simple question regarding our reservation and the hotel’s address, as there are conflicting addresses online and we wanted to avoid any confusion before arriving.
Despite all of our attempts, we were consistently ignored. We never received a clear answer, even after multiple follow-up messages. As international travelers planning a trip to Egypt months in advance, reliable communication is essential, especially when arranging flights, transfers, cruises, and tours.
What disappointed us the most was not the question itself, but the complete lack of customer service. From the moment a reservation is confirmed, guests should be able to rely on the hotel for basic assistance. Unfortunately, that was not our experience.
After waiting for over two months without a proper response, we completely lost confidence in staying at this hotel and decided to cancel our reservation and book another hotel instead.
Based on our experience, I cannot recommend this hotel. If you value communication, customer service, and peace of mind while planning your trip, I would strongly encourage you to consider other options.

Great location

A good hotel incorporating a beautiful setting. We found the rooms to be average and the bedding good but not exceptional. Meals were ok, and the Italian restaurant very good with friendly service and authentic food. The cost is appropriate. A good place to stop over.

Unique location with no quality of service.

This is not my first experience with Isis Island Hotel Aswan, and unfortunately the same issues continue to exist. The hotel enjoys a unique and beautiful location on an island in the River Nile, which should make it one of the most attractive destinations in Aswan. However, the service quality does not match the potential of the property.
The biggest concern is the Front Office team, whose performance is consistently disappointing. The staff seem to lack the basic principles of hospitality, including professionalism, courtesy, guest care, and problem-solving skills. Interactions often feel unwelcoming and inefficient, leaving guests with a negative impression from the moment they arrive.
It is unfortunate to see such a remarkable location let down by poor service standards. With proper training, stronger management oversight, and a greater focus on guest satisfaction, this hotel could offer a much better experience. Until then, I cannot recommend it based on the level of service currently provided.
