Beautiful experience, friendly and helpful staff. Comfortable rooms, great breakfast! The rooms are quiet and comfortable. We will be back for sure!

Gorgeous location, but disappointing management

Location
The only positive note is the location of the hotel: the view is magnificent and the proximity to the sea makes everything very impressive. Unfortunately, the beauty of the landscape is not enough to compensate for the serious shortcomings of the structure.
Cleanliness
The cleanliness of the rooms was decidedly insufficient which is unacceptable for such a hotel standard.
️ Catering and Service
The restaurant experience was the lowest point of the stay:
Quality of the food: Poor quality ingredients and dishes cooked without care. Mediocre flavors that do not do justice to the local tradition.
Service: Disorganized and unfriendly staff.
Verdict
Despite the enviable location, I do not recommend this hotel because of poor hygiene and a restaurant service totally to be reviewed.

Inefficiency large breakfast buffet for the number of guests in March. Bed a bit basic, No coffee facilities in room or lobby so 4* questionable in my mind considering the bed. Views from breakfast restaurant are excellent. I did not use the pool. Dedicated parking spaces for hotel were plentiful in March but probably insufficient in July/August.

As expected as a hotel but for 4 star lacked any bottled water or hot drink facilities in the room. Bed was a bit on the firm side and duvet a bit on the short side. Breakfast buffet good however for off season they could cook fresh to order for a better experience and reduce food waste.

A 3 star hotel of old age

We had booked the Hotel Marina on recommendation. Unfortunately, it was a total failure. We booked the junior suite as we wanted a newer room. The decor was ok but the cleanliness left much to be desired. We had planned to have New Year's Eve dinner in the restaurant but left a day earlier. The first dinner at the hotel was rather borderline. The appetizers were still going, but unfortunately there were most appetizers not, middle class, but the main courses absolutely third class. Beef fillet tagliatelle was cold, the seafood risotto was salted and there were only a few shrimp in it, far from seafood. My calamari was half raw and cold. The question has arisen where 3 Gault Milieu hoods come from. Breakfast well, that's all you can probably expect in a 3 star hotel.
The staff rather indifferent not to say unfriendly. When we left early, we weren't even asked why. Probably we were too uncomfortable after complaining about the cleanliness and air conditioning.
Our New Year's holiday was a bust.

Thank you for taking the time to write this review, but we think you may have stayed at a different hotel than Hotel Marina in Selce (near Crikvenica).
There are several reasons:
1. The picture you posted shows a wooden floor, while all our rooms have carpets;
2. The same picture shows a grey bed/sofa, but we do not have any of those;
3. You mention Gault Milieu hoods, but our hotel/restaurant is not featured in this guide.
Therefore, we would be very grateful if you could revise your review. We also invite you to stay with us in the future so that we can provide you with a pleasant stay.
