Striking location with some limitations as to accomodations
Your reading this review, because you saw that picture of the hotel, and yes it does look like that at sunset. The view from an upper room if equally striking. What are the drawbacks: no a/c, no fan, no heat - so keep that in mind. Cooling breezes, yes and no. Room was warm to hot during the day - comfortable at night and the waves breaking on the rocks can cover most noise, except when an early rising fisher decides to crank up his music at 5:30 am. As noted in the other reviews, the building itself is a little careworn, but no significant problems. Breakfast was ample and good. Had dinner in the hotel one night and that was very good albeit with limited wine selections (note you have to reserve and make your menu selections early in the day). Traffic and parking around other Arica restaurants can be a pain, so it was nice not to go out one night. I was really put off by the lack of a fan in the room, but the character of the place won out and I'll probably remember this hotel when I've forgotten most others.

Breathtaking view of the Pacific, but ...
Breathtaking view of the Pacific and charming room, but:
- for dinner, you must reserve before 6:00 PM and choose your dishes in advance. The bread is thawed and the dishes are cooked elsewhere and reheated on site. They are quite bland and overcooked.
- It is not possible to have a cocktail before 6:00 PM.
- Our old showerhead had lost its metallic plastic and was leaking in all directions.
- You need to close the window and stay warm (there is no air conditioning), otherwise the sound of the waves is really too loud to sleep.

Just different
Away from the hustle and bustle right by the sea, the hotel built of wood on stilts. Everything worked out fine. Check in, check out. The room very apart and warmly decorated. The beds top. The dinner as well as the morning meal prepared with a lot of love and it was excellent.

There was a hidden tax charge of the room. That was not informed anywhere. The receptionist stated that if you pay in CLP we did not have to pay the tax, we asked to pay in CLP but then still added the extra tax. The bar was a fridge with wine and beers. We were not told about the facilities of the hotel had to find out by ourselves. Very disappointing

Lack of soundproofing in the rooms.
The architecture and views very good, but unfortunately sleeping in the lower rooms is almost impossible. I spent a full night without being able to rest: you hear absolutely everything happening in the room above. The floor creaks, you feel the footsteps, the voices, the furniture moving and any objects falling to the ground.
The lack of soundproofing of these rooms is high!.
I really hope they can improve on this point, because the place has incredible potential, but so it is impossible to enjoy it.
