It has been a third year in a row I spend holidays in Rio staying at this hotel. It has always been great - friendly staff, clean room great amenities for the price - great value. I also believe the restaurant is underrated - the lunch and dinner there were really good (and we tried many plates), plus my son really enjoyed the nutella-strawberry pizza they make. Definitely worth staying at.

Excellent stay in Barra de Tijuca

We stayed 7 nights at the Windsor Tower and the truth is that everything was spectacular. Since we arrived, the service has been unbeatable, always ready to help us with whatever we need! The hotel facilities are in excellent condition, everything very clean and well maintained. The breakfast buffet is a 10, nothing to complain about. The location is half a block from the beach and approximately ten blocks from the center; the area is quiet so you can walk back and forth without any issues. One night we had dinner at the hotel restaurant and the food was exquisite and well-priced. The truth is we could not have had a better experience, without a doubt I would choose it again!

Not my preferred stay for Barra

Stayed here for only two nights with work. Arrived late evening for check-in. Found the reception staff not very friendly or welcoming. Check-in was so slow. Experience for the two days with staff remained the same, cold. Cleanliness was good overall and rooms were a good size. Breakfast was the usual but relatively sparse. I've stayed in a few very nearby hotels so this won't be my first choice again.

The hotel is located in an upscale Neighbourhood that is close to a more private beach with fewer people. It is about a half hour or more depending on traffic from Ipanema and Copacabana beaches. There are restaurants along the main street. There was a Terrace on the 18th floor, which has an excellent view of the city and the multilingual front desk staff is excellent to work with for recommendations and directions. If you want to try the subway it is about a 10 minute Uber ride to the local station and the subway is very simple to take based on my experience in other foreign cities. If you are a senior citizen, you can present your ID to a staff person and ask if they will let you ride free. The ride from the airport is approximately 45 - 60 minutes depending on traffic and the Uber option is the best in my opinion. I took a taxi from the airport mid day and paid $75 Rs. I used the hotel one time for pizza which was excellent, but overall the prices there were a bit inflated and I spent more time checking out local culture and foods in different areas of the city. I would also recommend that you try one of the boat tours along the coast. I enjoyed a sunset cruise, which worked out well for me. I plan to come back when the weather is nicer. I would say that May probably isn't the best time of year weatherwise and my understanding is that November and December are warmer with more sun.

Garments were taken from the room

Two clothes were taken from the room. The Hotel never responded to my written claims. Initially I informed the reception of the situation, but they told me that they should inspect all my luggage to determine that the two clothes were not there.
