Peace in the Paddock

Loved it! We had dinner & stayed overnight. Staff could not have been more accommodating - stayed late to make sure we arrived ok and served us a lovely meal. It was just so quiet! As city dwellers this was a welcome novelty! Everything was as advertised and we throughly enjoyed our stay!

Dump in a nice location

Over rated expensive and run down. Meals were poor quality. Drinks expensive. Friendly staff and a great spot. Building run down. Gutter falling off at entrance. Fly screens don't shut. A kettle in the "kitchen" that had no water and the kettle didn't fit under the hand basin tap in the shared toilets. Power points didn't work in our room. Pretty clear the owner just takes and doesn't put in. Great spot to stop and checkout but I'd not stay or rat there again.

Pub with a difference

Great for a different experience while in Tassie, the food was nice and they have a great range of drinks to choose from. We had the steak and aranchini, both delicious. Really well set up, we recommend for families, groups as well as couples passing through to call in.

Worst service and food

For a State that is known for its great food how can this place go so wrong? Ordered the sweet potato frittata with salad ($24) and asked if it contained tomato or capsicum. Was told no. It comes out and the salad had capsicum all over it and when I cut into the frittata guess what? Yep capsicum. When I took it back they were happy to replace but after this and seeing my partners meal asked for a refund.
My partner ordered the surf and turf with mash and veggies at a staggering $49 and asked for a
medium/done steak. Mash was cold and the steak full of fat and thin as. No way they should be charging $49.
We also ordered 2 x lemon lime and bitters. As it’s a pin you expect freshly made ones. But no. Pre-mixed and not a decent one.
Overall extremely disappointing and staff didn’t seem to want to be there.

Paddock Pub

Fantastic pub, with great charm. Memorabilia over all the walls. Friendly staff and a cosy relaxed environment. Camping for vans on a flat area with valley views. We fed Priscilla the pig water beer slops for a gold coin which goes the community. Just passi g, but a must see.
