pleasant, quiet and peaceful address

A nice, quiet and peaceful address, which allows you to enjoy a stay in Strahan.
You can also enjoy the snack that offers decent dishes.

Not really what we were looking for

An interesting property. A bit too far from the centre of town (should have done my research better). Probably best suited for groups than a couple. The room we had was one of four around a central kitchen, although the room itself had an ensuite bathroom. Although promoted as having an onsite restaurant, we were bluntly told it was closed until December, so we found a nearby cafe (Molly's) which was ok.

Not good

Locked out in 5 degrees”
Booked in to this overpriced backpacker type accommodation, it has 4 rooms around a common kitchenette area that appeared to have no heating, the outside temperature was below 10 and down to 5 overnight with howling wind and rain, the rooms have effective heating and are clean and comfortable. I went to the common area to get a snack out of the tiny fridge (which has to service the occupants of 4 double rooms and has no milk) and the room door automatically closed behind me and locked my out in the cold wearing only a towel as I had just got out of the shower, I had no phone or car keys- all in the room, after running around in the rain and cold naked looking for another occupant of any other room in the complex of which there were none, to borrow a phone, after lots of knocking and yelling I raised the owner who informed me it was my fault as he had been a builder for 50 years and it could not be his fault, the lock was faulty as when I finally got another key from him and opened the room the the door would not lock at all. Very stressful evening, stay elsewhere.

Good location but lacking comfort

Easy to walk to town and ok/good restaurant on site, lots of parking. Layout of 1-bedroom ground floor unit was not great. Queen bed up against wall to fit in bedroom, tv high up near ceiling in living room so difficult to view. Toilet seat coming off, and some smell from drains or ?? not nice. Window blinds in living room were see thru at night. Giant heavy cups and bowls awkward to use, and conduction benchtops stove easy to accidentally turn on without being aware. Bathroom space tight. It was annoying that it wasn't more comfortable because it was in a nice spot.

Not up to scratch.

Very disappointed. Bathroom stunk of urine. Poor insulation, people walking upstairs, woke us up. I would advise finding somewhere else. Strahan is a lovely place, so don’t spoil it. Wifi’s poor. No phone in room. + plenty of parking. Nice out the front.
