Great stopover close to shops and station. Fine dining in the bistro with different specials daily. Fantastic service and friendly staff, Top Management who promoted a warm welcome. Nostalgic hotel with a selection of different spaces for bars and entertainment. We will be back . Thanks to all staff.

Filthy, health and safety risk should be shut down
From the very beginning, the booking was a nightmare. What was advertised as a clean, retro-style place in a convenient location looked nothing like the photos online.
When I checked in, the employee—who was also working at the bar—charged $534 from my account without explanation. After I showed my physical itinerary, the amount was eventually refunded, but the situation was very concerning.
The room itself was filthy. The carpet was heavily soiled, old, and looked like it had never been properly cleaned. The deadlock on my door was broken, which made me feel unsafe. The bathroom appeared as though it had not been cleaned at all. There was a strong, unpleasant odor throughout the room.
The linen looked unwashed and had holes in it that resembled cigarette burns. Overall, the condition of the property was unacceptable and far below what was advertised.
Do yourself a favour do not stay here.

Loyal and regular customers but request two minor repairs to room 3
We regularly stay at Hornsby Inn due to its convenience to public transport when traveling from north coast, especially to avoid too much driving in 'city' traffic, as it is not far off the freeway.
The hotel rooms are always clean and comfortable and the staff are great. Although facilities are basic, it is good value for what you get, and is perfectly fine for a quick overnight trip.
On our most recent visit, we noticed two minor things in Room 3: A significant gap above the door to the room, which let in light and noise, as the door did not sit straight on its hinges. But this would be a quick fix.
Also the sliding door to the ensuite bathroom did not fully close or latch properly which affected some privacy between family members. Also an easy fix, if somebody reads this.
We will definitely return and intend to stay there regularly for our quick Sydney trips but will request NOT to be allocated room 3 next time unless these two minor issues are repaired.

Nice, very basic rooms. GREAT location. Staff friendly and helpful. I’d stay there again if I was passing through and needed a place.

Unsafe accommodation, don't go!
I've never felt so unsafe in accommodation in all my life! At 2:35am I was woken from a deep sleep by someone unlocking & opening my door. Thank goodness I had the chain lock on the door. But how the hell was someone else able to access my room?! I wasn't able to get back to sleep after that as I feared for the safety of myself & my 2 young children with me. Made for a very long & dangerous 5 hour drive home on minimal sleep. The only thing this place has going for it is it's location. The shower has next to no water pressure & the water was either really hot or really cold. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE TO ANYONE!!! The band playing in the pub was crap! Management don't even have the decency to respond to my concerns about the safety of the rooms. Don't waste your money!
