So bad

My friend and I went here in May of this year (2026). IT WAS SO BAD! A creepy 60-year-old caretaker threw Chilli at us and was really creepy. And our showers were so cold. The kitchen was incredibly dirty. BAD EXPERIENCE. DO NOT GO HERE!!

Below average

Great location. Sadly that is where the good news ends. I didn't feel safe at this property. Also in the five nights I was there the bathrooms did not appear to have been cleaned once. I wasn't expecting great things, and I fully accept that you get what you pay for, but this place did not meet even my very low expectations.

ZERO** STARS

ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE PLACE, I GOT SCAMMED BY THE MANAGER.
This is the worst hostel I have ever stepped foot in. (On top of the already poor amenities and badly kept, dirty rooms!)
THEY DOUBLEBOOKED MY BED AND A MAN CAME INTO MY FEMALE DORM AT 1AM, SHOOK ME AWAKE AND TOLD ME TO LEAVE.
next morning when I went to the reception, and showed them the booking confirmation email and the charge for the room, the manager would not admit any fault, did not apologize once, and HE CHARGED ME AGAIN, MEANING THEY DOUBLE CHARGED ME.
He was HORRIBLY RUDE and blamed the whole situation on me, even though I had evident proof that they were the ones that had made a huge mistake.
Undoubtedly the worst service and MOST TERRIBLE MANAGER I have ever encountered, STAY AWAY AT ALL COSTS!
If anywhere else in town had availability I would absolutely leave here immediately, but unfortunately I have no other place to go, which they certainly exploit.

The building is beautiful and suggests that we will be fine.
But apart from this historic façade, the rest was disappointing!
Dusty corridors, room not very clean, locker too small for luggage, in short, a very big disappointment!...

Worst property in Hobart

I am trying to get some rest but the caretaker of your property is making a racket outside of my room past 10pm. It’smot your guests it’s yourselves. If you want to make.call don’t make it in the corridor outside guests rooms after 10pm this is unacceptable
