Very well cared for, tasty, pleasant service
Daily menu was three courses with a fresh vegetable soup as starter, main course and panda cottages, and coffee afterwards for 8 euros! How is this possible? Awesome.

Mixed feelings
Breakfast next morning was good with bacon and fried eggs, after a fashion. I started liking the place again, so we went for dinner that night (at 1730 to make sure!). Dinner was good. Breakfast the second morning was a much more meagre affair and only barely adequate.
The girl who appears to do all of the work is run off her feet and she is efficient, but it wouldn’t harm her to crack a smile once in a while.
If I were in the area again, I’d stay in Sabiles.

Like a traditional inn
The room was quite hotel-like, ie a step up from most guesthouses, but it lacked a mirror and a wardrobe or chest of drawers, there was just a coat rack on the wall. The curtains were pale and flimsy so didn't block the light at all. There were no hooks or shelves in the bathroom and, while the shower cubicle was large, it had an ordinary radiator in it which was a bit strange.
Breakfast was OK, nothing special.
All in all, this is good value for money and fine for a stay of a night or two. But please, proprietors, put a few hooks up in the bathroom and provide a chest of drawers or a wardrobe so guests don't have to live out of a suitcase.

Good for 1 night stay
- Charming old house with medieval powder tower right in front of it and castle remnants right beneath
- We were allowed to stay as 4 in 3-bed room.
- unexpectedly good wifi
- good price - 40 eur per night, breakfast included
Disadvantages:
- restaurant was not working despite stated working hours
- no air in the room
- no bedside lamps
- scarce breakfast
- no glasses in the room
Overall - good if you stay for 1 night, but expected more from such nice place.
