Beautiful accommodation in the heart of the Mekong Delta
Our stay at the Mekong Rustic Can Tho Hideaway was very special and one of the most beautiful experiences of our trip. Already on arrival we loved the quiet, tropical atmosphere. Surrounded by palm trees, small water channels and lovingly landscaped paths, the property felt like a little paradise in the middle of nature.
The complex was beautifully designed – with a great pool, cosy seating areas and a fantastic view of the canals. Especially in the morning and evening the mood was magical: Sunrises over the palm trees, the soft sound of the water and the tranquility of the surroundings made your stay unforgettable. We also enjoyed the food and the fresh coconuts very much.
However, an absolute highlight was the time with Tony. It wasn’t just a classic tour – Tony was travelling with us privately and showed us real life in the Mekong Delta in a very personal and warm way. Through him we could discover places that you probably would never have seen as a normal tourist.
Together we were on the small waterways, explored the area and got an authentic insight into local life. His openness, warmth and honest nature have made this experience special for us.
It didn’t feel like a guided tour, but rather like spending time with a friend who showed us his home. This is exactly what made this stay so unique.
We enjoyed every minute and will certainly never forget this time.

An unforgettable stay in the heart of the Mekong Delta
The setting is truly special: the waterway right in front of the hotel, the large lush garden, the peaceful atmosphere… everything feels calm and authentic. You can go fishing, take a small boat, walk around the beautiful garden, take a bike, relax by the swimming pool, there is always something to do.
The breakfast was generous and delicious.
What really makes the difference is the staff. Everyone was incredibly kind, attentive and welcoming. Their positive energy truly made our stay unforgettable.
Mekong Rustic is a good place to disconnect and experience the Mekong Delta in a peaceful way. We would definitely love to come back.

Rustic Can Tho: A Gateway to the Delta Beyond the City
While it took a little work to find, its location takes you away from the city and into the waterways of the Mekong Delta. It's a refreshing contrast to the repetitive layout and pace of urban life.
I was warmly welcomed by the staff, who took the time to show me around while also giving me the space to explore at my own pace.
The Hideaway is a fitting escape for anyone looking to experience the Mekong beyond the city. The surrounding area is a network of small waterways, farms, and local communities. One of the highlights of my visit was spending time chatting with a nearby durian farmer and learning about his work.
On returning, I was greeted with the dinner I had ordered in advance, with the braised fish being my favourite dish. I also have to mention the delicious fruit, much of which had been picked fresh from the garden.
I was particularly interested in the Hideaway's work with local communities, especially the tours they have developed around the surrounding area. Unfortunately, I didn't have time to join one before leaving early the following morning, but they sound like a fantastic way to gain a deeper understanding of both local life and the wider Mekong Delta.
Knowing that Rustic Hospitality Group has several properties across the Mekong that are committed to sustainable, community-based tourism makes me even more eager to visit their other locations in the future.
