A decent and still fairly modern hotel - though I could tell they were understaffed at breakfast and the IT system was down the day we arrived which meant a laborious check-in.
Decent breakfast area with good food choice.

The food let's it down
I stayed here as part of a coach trip. The staff are lovely, the reception area, bar and restaurant are nice too and very clean.
In terms of the rooms, the beds were very comfortable and the rooms were clean. The carpet did look like it could do with replacing as it had some set in stains. I thought it was a nice touch that they provide you with a shower mat. Although, the shower mat was clean it had yellowed in colour.
The thing that really let's this hotel down is the food which is why I have only given 3/5. As part of our coach trip we had an evening meal provided for us. It was a pretty basic buffet which the limited choice is to be expected to an extent. However, the bigger issue was the fact that the food wasn't hot. It was lukewarm at best and the pasta was cool.
I expected the breakfast the next morning to be better but this wasn't hot either. My hash browns were stone cold and I ended up leaving most of my breakfast, we both did and this is the first hotel I have ever been too where I have been unable to eat the breakfast due to it being cold.
I can't comment on what the bar meals were like, they did look nice but the buffet both evening and breakfast does let this hotel down.

No recognition for diamond members
Visited whilst away on business. As I stay in a Hilton hotel most weeks I was less impressed with this venue and probably wouldn’t return. As a diamond member there was no recognition at check in and no drinks voucher like most other venues without a lounge. In fact I don’t recall another venue that doesn’t offer at least one, whilst most offer 2. I visited the bar and went to sit outside, which is not well kept like in the website photos.
I stayed in room 272 which was suppose to be an upgrade. I was very surprised to see that there was very few sockets in the room. No sockets by the bed at all so cannot charge your phone close to you. I like to watch tv on my laptop but the charger cable would not reach from across the room to my bed with my laptop.
I did eat in the restaurant, which was ok. Breakfast was ok also with a good selection all
Buffet style.
As a non diamond member this hotel would be fair, as a diamond member you will feel it’s lacking the service of other venues.

Pleasant Stay, Nice Hotel, Tweaks needed
The Hilton is very nice in the reception area, lots of space and nice touches, and restaurants
Our twin was was nice, shame the windows can't be opened, but did have air con, which worked well, before when I've stayed at a Hilton I mentioned here's never any hot chocolate, but was a lovely surprise to see hot chocolate on the tray, which I enjoyed as I don't drink tea or coffee, my friend loved the coffee machine and the coffee pods
Few issues though, I had taken my special torch to check the bedding, and there were lots of stains some looked like blood, the mattress weren't looking the best neither was the mattress protector, when housekeeping see mattress looking terrible, it should be reported and changed, not just covered up, you pay a lot of money to stay in a Hilton hotel,
I did call down to reception, and new sheets where brought up to our room within 30 minutes, the carpet had a few stains, with the correct cleaning products, stuff like this can be removed.
In the bathroom theres a door stopper on the floor near the bath, which is sharp my friend hit her toe a few times, the sink tap is very close to the sink, very hard to use without the water going all over the unit.
I'm never keen on the £50 deposit required at some of the Hilton's, when this was taken off my card I asked the gentleman at reception, how long after your stay is the money put back on the card, he said usually straight away or the next day, I waited 8 days and still nothing, which is not acceptable, I had to call the hotel to find out what's going on, but after a few hours it was returned to my card, I shouldn't have to chase my money back.
Overall, was a pleasant stay, a few tweaks still needed.
