Small, tidy, and very accommodating
Great location, clean, and kind workers. There was a breakfast buffet every morning which was unexpected. It was walking distance to several attractions. The front desk called for taxis when requested. A great place to stay while in Rome.

Charged double taxes
Overall hotel service and location was good but giving this rating because they charged me double taxes, at the time of booking I already paid all the taxes and service charges but at the time of checkout they charged me again in the name of city tax. Already sent an email to them and attached my booking where it shows all breakdown for money which I paid which also indicates taxes, but didn’t replied yet..

However, we fully understand your dissatisfaction with the tax issue and are sorry you were charged twice, especially after having already paid for the fees at the time of booking.
Managing local tax issues can be complex, especially given the different payment methods available on various booking platforms.
We hope you understand that the taxes you were charged upon checkout are exclusively "CITY TAXES," which the City of Rome requires to be paid not by accommodation providers, but by tourists staying in Rome for a period of less than 10 days.
We hope this important clarification motivates you to remove the negative review attributed to us regarding the cost of taxes, redirecting it to the Municipality of Rome and not to the accommodation provider, which is only responsible for collecting them.
We truly hope your experience does not undermine your trust in us and that you will consider us again for a future stay.

Great value for a great place
Location was very good, me and my family walked everywhere since everything was 20-30 minute walking distance. Atmosphere was very quiete and relaxing and the rooms were very clean. The service was amazing too, every time we went out in the morning our room was cleaned by the time we got back around 2-3pm in the afternoon.

My Italy Stay at The Republic Hotel
During my recent stay at The Republic Hotel, I was genuinely impressed by the phenomenal concierge administration. The staff—Jacopo, Alberto, and Kaycee—made me feel warmly welcomed from the moment I arrived. Their friendliness and attentiveness greatly enhanced my experience.
They went above and beyond in several instances. For instance, they ensured that my mother’s dinner reservations at the independent hotel were perfectly arranged. I also appreciated their care when I ended up with sore, cut-up feet from all the walking and day tours I had scheduled. Every day, they provided bandaids and checked in on my comfort, which I truly valued.
Breakfast was another highlight. Given my early day trips, the staff accommodated my requests for earlier breakfasts, whether it was preparing a to-go box or serving a delicious meal before the standard hours. Their flexibility made my mornings much smoother.
The housekeeping team was equally impressive, keeping our room meticulously cleaned and maintained, always ensuring it met my requests.
A particularly memorable experience occurred when I realized I had left all my tech gadgets behind after a long night of organizing due to a flight delay. I contacted the hotel staff in a panic, and they quickly arranged to ship my belongings back to me in New York. Their swift response and dedication to resolving the issue were incredibly reassuring.
I am immensely grateful to the entire staff for their extraordinary service. I will definitely rebook with The Republic Hotel in the future and eagerly anticipate my next visit. Highly recommended!

The Experience of a Life time
Excellent experience. Staff was friendly and knowledgeable. Alberto , Fabrizio and Fernando were beyond accommodating. They were helpful and know how to lead a top notch hotel!
