Superb charm with a great restaurant. The room was clean, spacious with an oldfashioned charm. The food and the wines were surprisingly cheap with fantastic quality. Good breakfast. Extra plus for the friendly dig and cats. Genuinly cosy with charm. Close to the motorway and Barolo and Barbaresco.

Quiet location, room with antique furnishings...
Last weekend we stayed for one night at the hotel il Campanile (with the formula bed and breakfast).
Located in Cherasco (Cn) in the small hamlet of Krk, 10 minutes drive from the village center, very quiet location, ample free parking around the property.
The Hotel il Campanile has been converted from an old farmhouse carefully restored, every architectural detail has been highlighted for its beauty (brickwork, vaulted and wooden ceilings, stone staircases). The furniture also respects the origins of the building, in the room and in the common areas there were many artifacts of ancient wood, tapestries and paintings on the walls, imposing glass chandeliers and red carpets.
Outside a small garden with rose and white wisteria arches, swimming pool with solarium, a large gazebo for ceremonies in the restaurant attached to the hotel.
Our room (No. 116) was on the first floor and was very spacious, had a private bathroom and three windows on the square in front of the hotel.
The furniture was really refined (all in wood), every element of the room reflected the life of the past. The bed was comfortable (not very big) and we slept quite well.
The bathroom was very spacious and livable (maybe it lacked some lighting).
The flaw of the room is that there were few electrical outlets (too few and badly displaced) and some elements could be cleaned better (the chandelier had a bit of cobwebs and the closet where to store clothes was dusty).
Apart from that the room was quite comfortable and there was good privacy with the neighboring rooms.
The breakfast room, open from 7.30 to 10, offered a decent buffet with both savory and sweet dishes, a good choice of drinks (hot and cold). Very good baked goods (the croissants and pies were very good and fragrant).
The reception service was not continuous, after 10 pm you had to use a code to open the front door of the hotel.
There was free Wi-Fi throughout the property.
The hotel staff has been a bit absent. When we arrived there was no one at the reception desk. Also to check out we had to wait for the arrival of the staff who, it is not clear if they were just distracted or uninformed, but did not know if we still had to pay the room and tourist taxes. Too bad for these small inconveniences because the structure has great potential and should be managed a little better, especially with regard to the customer.
Overall we enjoyed it, the location was quiet and tidy, very nice garden, the room we liked.

Higher potential
I booked 1 double bedroom + 1 single bedroom at Hotel Il Campanile to spend August 15th with my wife and her mom in the beautiful landscape of Langhe
Hotel structure is very suggestive, placed in an 18th century building, nearby a church, surrounded by yards and with an amazing external space full of plants and flowers, where breakfast can be consumed
Beautiful terrace at the 2nd floor
Single room: clean, good bed and pillow, AC working properly
Double room: clean, but with many many spider nets in a lot of places, bed and pillow not comfortable, AC not refrigerating, though temp set at 19
We could not open the bedroom window, because just outside of it there was a wasp's nest
Beside the room door (room 218), there is a strange stair to go down somewhere, with a scaring shadow and spider nets all around... Seems almost an escape room entrance, but you are in a hotel...
The pool is quite small, around 20sqm, and fairly deep, but the space around it for sunbeds and chairs is little, compared with the number of rooms available in the hotel
It is indicated in pool regulations you must have shower before to enter the pool, but the shower was not working

Breakfast good, various and with good and tasty products, both sweets and salty

I appreciated the EV charging wallbox available, good extra service, although the effective €/kWh rate you pay, is higher than the normal one at charging box in the streets
Globally quite worth, but with higher potential, if details are going to be taken into account

Customer attention: this unknown
I will make a preface: the location as seen in the photos is beautiful, and several people have recommended it to me for a wedding. This is the reason that drives me to write an email to the hotel to gather useful information before finalizing a quote with them.
They responded to my email ten days ago, asking me to schedule an appointment. Since that moment, disappeared. I write an email on May 4th, then on May 6th. No response. I call on May 7th, and I am told that the person in charge of weddings would call me back in the afternoon: I leave my contact information, but no call comes. I call again on May 8th: I speak with the person in charge of weddings, who does not have a free minute to schedule an appointment because they are organizing an event. And I had seriously asked for just one minute of their time. I move on; after all, we all work. They kindly ask me to write on Monday, May 11th. I write, nothing. I write the next day, nothing. Ten days to schedule an appointment that I ultimately could not set up.
I am truly sorry to have to give up this location, but a potential client cannot chase a vendor for days without ever receiving a shred of attention. If this is the level of seriousness of the employees in their dealings with the public or with those who entrust this facility with the most important day of their lives, there is certainly a very serious problem at the core. I hope I am just an isolated case in front of many success stories.

Restaurant with poor service, experience to avoid.
I had lunch yesterday with my husband. The girl who seems to run the place (the owner's daughter, I think I understand) was very uncourteous and helpful. First of all they put us at a table exactly in the middle of a room where there were several rowdy tables that perhaps celebrated a birthday and, to our requests to be moved because we could not even chat so much was the noise, he replied that the only possibility was to stay outside, but being a cold day... Note that I booked a month ago. Then I asked her for a vegetarian appetizer to replace the one provided and she replied that all the pies were counted for the tables next door and that they did not even have one more, so she made me bring the roast beef. In short, poor service. An unpleasant experience. I do not recommend it, also given the amount of level restaurants in the area.

desideriamo innanzitutto porgerle le nostre sincere scuse per il disagio percepito.
Riteniamo però opportuno chiarire alcuni aspetti: la prenotazione effettuata non prevedeva l’esclusiva del locale, che dispone di una capienza superiore alle 100 persone, né comportava la limitazione nell’accettare ulteriori clienti. Inoltre, il menù da voi scelto era un percorso degustazione a base di carne e la nostra proposta non include antipasti vegetariani. L’unica segnalazione ricevuta al momento del servizio riguardava un’allergia al tonno, ingrediente presente anche nell’insalata russa.
Ci preme inoltre evidenziare che, durante il servizio, è stato rivolto un intervento dai toni accesi nei confronti di una nostra giovane collaboratrice, la quale non ricopre ruoli di responsabilità o gestione. Riteniamo fondamentale garantire un ambiente di lavoro rispettoso per tutto il nostro staff.
Rimaniamo sempre disponibili ad accogliere esigenze alimentari specifiche: qualora queste fossero state comunicate al momento della prenotazione, come avvenuto per altri ospiti(motivo per il quale hanno avuto il tortino che non è presente nel nostro menù e per questo contato per loro), ci saremmo impegnati con piacere a soddisfarle.
Pur dispiaciuti per quanto accaduto, siamo lieti di aver ricevuto un riscontro positivo da tutti gli altri invitati e le auguriamo di poter trovare in futuro esperienze pienamente rispondenti alle sue aspettative.
