Hotel Terme Providence is located a few metres from Ischia's Citara Beach in a panoramic position overlooking the sea. It has indoor and outdoor pools and fitness and entertainment facilities.

Perfect Italian Boutique Holiday
We were looking for an authentic Italian boutique holiday full of charm, and Hotel Terme Providence delivered on every level.
What makes a holiday special are the people, and the staff here were incredible. The management is clearly brilliant. Owner JeanPaul was a real highlight. On gala night he was chatting with everyone, dancing, and making sure every guest felt welcome. His smile and warmth set the tone for the whole stay. The hotel manager also went above and beyond and kindly drove us to La Mortella Gardens — such a lovely gesture. The gardens are absolutely fabulous and well worth the trip. We caught the bus back.
Room
We stayed in a Comfort Suite which was spacious with a really well-equipped bathroom. There’s a wall hairdryer provided. There’s no kettle in the room, but we knew this in advance and brought our own — the hotel kindly gave us milk so we could start the day with a cuppa. They don’t provide bottled water in the rooms, but you can buy large chilled bottles at reception which we did daily.
Food & Drink
Breakfast was amazing. Huge selection of cold meats, cheeses including the most delicious ricotta, fresh fruit, nuts, seeds, preserves, and the best homemade cakes and breads I’ve ever had. The cappuccinos and coffees were some of the best I’ve tasted.
We ate dinner at the hotel 3 times. Don’t miss the Gala Night. Authentic Italian antipasti, risotto finished and served on the dance floor, followed by an incredible dessert spread including chocolate cannoli. Then dance the night away!
The cocktails are fantastic — we loved the Mojitos and Bloody Marys. The local Ischia wine is very reasonably priced, and they make a delicious homemade Lemon Soda from lemons grown in their own garden. Every drink comes with lovely snacks. It’s perfect sitting with a cocktail watching the sunset before dinner.
Pools & Spa
There are 3 pools: 2 outdoors including a 40°C thermal pool, and an indoor saltwater pool with Jacuzzi. It’s a spa hotel and mid-week we were offered a complimentary body mud mask. We also booked a massage which was so relaxing. Tip: bring a swim hat as it’s required in the pools. You can hire beach towels or bring your own.
Location & Extras
The hotel is on a slope. A 5-10 min walk either way gets you to lots of great local restaurants and bars. Our favourites were Jamm Ja for pizza and Ristorante Da Ciccio for incredible fresh fried cod. There’s also beach access just across the road, about 5 mins down steps.
There’s a kids club in the afternoons. With only 5 children in the hotel the week we were there, our 2-year-old grandson loved it. The hotel also has books and games you can swap.
The absolute highlight was the Friday trip to the hotel’s family vineyard. The mountain drive is a bit hairy but the views are worth it. JeanPaul tells stories about his family and Italian traditions, introduces everyone, and finishes by leading us in local singing. I’m not a singer but it was so much fun and so heartwarming.
We didn’t feel the need to visit other thermal parks on Ischia as everything we needed was here.
Hotel Terme Providence feels authentic, welcoming, and fun. We’ll be back.

Lovely hotel stay and amazing food!
Lovely hotel stay at hotel providence and have recommended the hotel to others. There was an initial mix-up when we arrived regarding the hotel room we were allocated, however this was very quickly sorted by Gianpaulo (one of the owners). They gave us the opportunity to stay in two different upgraded rooms due to the mix up. Both great size and amazing views. We stayed on a half board basis and had some of the best dinners we have had during a hotel stay. Every meal was several courses and delicious. You can also get wine at lunch or dinner, and if dont finish it they keep it for your next meal. They also do a special dinner night with an abundance of seafood on the Sunday night too. Pizza at the pool restaurant at the weekend was also great. The bar staff were all lovely and super hard working. Carmine made us some great cocktails and was always very friendly, as was Sara who helped in the bar and Gunnaro who also worked the bar (he also made a great espresso martini). Family run hotel and you can tell the owners have put a lot of love and care into the place. Gianpaulo, who owns the hotel was so friendly and helpful during our trip. Helping with sorting buses around the island and also a trip to their house in the mountains to try some of their family made wine (a must do if staying over a Friday when they do the trip). The hotel is well kept with some areas being recently renovated. Terrace has some amazing views for sunset and of the sea. Our only critique is lunch is only for one hour so quite limited for lunch options. It would be great if there was option of even light bites from 12-3 like sandwiches, salad etc., as if you miss the lunch slot you have to walk at least 10/15minutes for lunch elsewhere. Also slightly older italian clientele when we first arrived, however by second week in July it was more mixed.
Hotel is in a good location, close to beach and 20 mins walk to Forio. Close to different bus stops too.
Overall, great stay and would return!

A remarkable hotel!
Truly a superb hotel with top-notch staff and a wonderful management team; everyone contributes to the guests' well-being and is eager to ensure we have the best vacation possible.
It is warm and inviting. Nothing impersonal here.
Pleasant, functional, and very well-decorated rooms. Good bedding.
Housekeeping done perfectly every day.
Beautiful pools (indoor and outdoor).
Nice, interesting activities, but without disturbing the guests' rest.
Very pleasant free public beach below.
The lively center of Forio is very close: you can walk there without any problem or take advantage of the hotel shuttle.

Excellent family run hotel
We were already the 2. Time in this beautiful hotel. You can clearly see that this is family-run with attention to detail. Just the garden "Eden", as well as the view from the terrace to the sea are unique and delight the heart :-)
The staff is sooooooo dear and helpful, a single dream. Also the spa area with the treatments are only recommended. We would also like to be a 3. Let's come :-)

We feel very comfortable and will return with pleasure
We have been staying at this hotel for years, a wonderful place, the Monte family and their staff are always present to make the guests' stay pleasant and peaceful. We feel really comfortable
