Incredible views, lovely staff, some niggles
We had a lovely holiday in Conca dei Marini and have come back with so many happy memories including going in the sea every day, lounging by the pool, visiting the other villages and looking at the incredible view. We were in room 104 which has a fantastic big terrace overlooking the sea, a lovely bathroom and lots of room for us both and our luggage. We were there in May which is quieter than the summer season which made it feel even more special. Our room however did back onto the elevator which was quite clunky and we could hear its mechanism very clearly in our room. The air con worked really well.
The hotel is definitely not modern but that adds to its old-fashioned, sleepy appeal. It's showing its age in places such as cracked tiles, or burn marks inside cupboards, but it's got a certain charm about it. The location is amazing in terms of it being by the sea with access to a private swimming platform but it was also very isolated and the only supermarket/shop was a 20 minute vertical walk up the mountain! Now that I've been to other villages along the Amalfi Coast I might have chosen somewhere with a bit more going on around it. There is a hotel shuttle bus to Amalfi which costs 5 Euros per person for a single journey but the last one leaves the hotel at 4pm (last return from Amalfi to the hotel is 4.30pm) and after that you're stuck in increasingly unreliable buses that are often full, or EXTORTIONATELY PRICED taxis! Asking the hotel to book me a taxi for the 3km journey would have cost 60 Euros one way even though it's their staff and their minibus that they use. I felt really ripped off by that. We walked one way one night but the roads are narrow with no pavements so it's not the most relaxing way to transport yourself. The reception does sell bus tickets which is helpful but don't rely on the timetable and build in lots of extra time. The last bus from Amalfi back to the hotel was about 9pm and if you can't get on it because of the amount of other people on it, then you're stuck with a 50 Euro taxi from the main square.
The staff at the hotel were absolutely AMAZING! Pepe in the restaurant was a standout star and we loved seeing him every day. There were a couple of misses in the hotel over our stay - like finding a used drinks can in our room when we first walked in, our room being pretty dusty the whole holiday, and a prized soft toy somehow ending up in the laundry when the sheets were changed but these were just minor niggles and were sorted really quickly.
Half board is nice (see above in terms of how hard it is to get back to the hotel if you have dinner out) but we wish it hadn't been quite so formal. Sometimes we didn't really want three courses, although Pepe was sweet enough to ask the chef for a cheese omelette when we really didn't fancy eating so much. We didn't find it very comfortable to lounge either - the bar wasn't that inviting, the pool area is closed from 6pm, and there wasn't much space just for sitting quietly outside and having a snack (after the pool closed).
Generally the prices in the hotel were pretty expensive - e.g. mozzarella slices and proscuitto and some bread was 20 Euros by the pool. We would have liked free water seeing as the local shop was so far away.
The pool is amazing with lots of room for everyone, and the views from every corner of the hotel are breathtaking.

The taxi is not ours and the service is completely external to the hotel.

A beautiful hotel caught in a time warp
Hotel Belvedere has an extraordinary location, spectacular views and generally lovely staff, but the property desperately needs investment.
Our room was comfortable, the beds were fine and housekeeping was efficient. A special mention to Thomaso at the bar, who was always cheerful and made excellent cocktails. He told us he had asked the owner for a large ice-cube maker for drinks such as Old Fashioneds but was refused — a small anecdote that rather summed up the hotel: good staff trying to deliver a good experience without the investment or equipment to do so.
The property itself feels tired. Our balcony furniture was cheap, badly weathered and stained, while the metal frames became extremely hot in the sun. Rooms have no tea or coffee-making facilities, so even a morning coffee requires room service.
Food was the biggest disappointment. Breakfast felt like stepping back several decades, with stainless-steel chafing dishes, cold meats beneath plastic covers and very basic presentation. Pool food was equally disappointing, while room service produced a lasagne that appeared to have been microwaved and was served on a paper plate. External food deliveries are not permitted, so after that experience our options were limited.
Transport was another frustration. Taxis are extraordinarily expensive, yet on day five we independently discovered that a scheduled executive bus stops almost directly outside the hotel and provides inexpensive

The hotel is located on a very quiet and calm rock about 15 min by bus from Amalfi. Perfect for Rest and Relax without any commotion from outside. The staff is wonderful and proffesional. Absolutely perfect!

We had a wonderful stay at Hotel Belvedere and truly enjoyed every moment of it!
The staff were absolutely fantastic — incredibly friendly, attentive, and always ready to help with anything we needed. A special thank you to Francesco at the reception, who was exceptionally kind, professional, and helpful. He always greeted us with a smile and went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed. His warm and attentive service made our stay even more enjoyable.
The breakfasts were another highlight, especially because of the stunning views. Starting the day with delicious food and such a beautiful panorama was simply amazing.
And the pool was fantastic — a perfect place to relax and enjoy the surroundings. Everything at the hotel felt thoughtfully arranged to make guests feel comfortable and enjoy their stay.

Nestled in the rock, overlooking the sea and suspended between Amalfi and Positano, it still preserves the authenticity and charm of the true Amalfi Coast today, keeping its origins alive along with that warm hospitality that is increasingly difficult to find today.
From the moment we arrived, we felt welcomed with an attention and cordiality that truly make a difference. All the staff are impeccably professional: always smiling, helpful, and attentive to every need, with that natural elegance that makes you feel like a special guest.
The rooms are wonderful, bright, quiet, and cared for in every detail, all overlooking a view that leaves you breathless. The cleanliness is simply impeccable and represents one of the property's great strengths: from the common areas to the rooms, and even the outdoor bathrooms, every space is maintained with truly commendable care.
The saltwater pool is an experience that is worth the stay all on its own. It is easily reached by the internal elevator and, from there, a spectacular panoramic staircase carved into the rock, suspended high above the sea, leads guests toward an environment that has managed to keep all the charm of nature intact. Every step offers breathtaking glimpses of the Amalfi Coast, until you reach this terrace overlooking the blue where the saltwater pool seems to merge with the sea. For those who wish, a small ladder leads directly to the private descent onto the rock, allowing you to dive into the crystal-clear waters of the Coast. A magical place, where nature and hospitality coexist in perfect harmony.
The cuisine is excellent and tastefully celebrates the authentic flavors of the region. Every dish is prepared with quality ingredients and great attention. Breakfast is one of the best moments of the day: a very rich, varied, and abundant buffet, capable of satisfying every taste, from sweet to savory, with fresh and genuine products.
A special thanks goes to the maître d' Giuseppe who, every morning, with his smile, his elegance, and his extraordinary professionalism, welcomed us, helping us start the day in the best way possible.
