Hotel Massimo Resort is located in the Valverde area of Cesenatico, 328 feet from the beach. All rooms are air-conditioned and some offer views of the sea. The Massimo Resort Hotel's swimming pool is set on a sun terrace with deck chairs and parasols. The Massimo Resort is around the corner from Viale Giosué Carducci seaside promenade. The Villamarina exit of the SS16 national road is 1640 feet away.

Terrible experience
We stayed 8 days in this hotel, but unfortunately we encountered several problems right from the start.
Terrible cleaning, dust everywhere, double bed and bunk bed with spring mattresses that were old and sagging. Room without shelves to put things on, closet with only some hangers, for 4 days we had to keep our suitcases open in the room (resolved with our insistence).
Terrible bathroom, sink, bidet, shower, and soap dish (without soap inside) full of limescale. The bathroom flooded with every shower due to poor slope, shower and bidet drains clogged.
Dirty shower tiles and door, you can tell they haven't been cleaned for a very long time, in addition to the poor maintenance.
Elevator always dirty, in 8 days I never saw it cleaned.
Hotel entrance poorly maintained and dirty chairs.
Restaurant floor, chairs, cutlery, and dishes are all always dirty; I don't know how many times I had to move the dishes. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner buffet with very little choice. In the morning, two types of cakes, always the same ones, croissants, rusks, jams, and for savory options, only ham, cheese slices, and hard-boiled eggs, with no bread for toast. Fruit juices (peach, pear, and apricot) for children were non-existent. Lunch and dinner had two types of first courses and two of second courses, always the same vegetables (broccoli, cauliflower, tomatoes, corn, lettuce, grilled eggplant, and peppers), and the same legumes for the entire stay. Fish was the cheapest kind, never any other types. Focaccia and pizzas were often undercooked and salty.
Not to mention the only time we had Milanese-style risotto, it was terrible.
Fruit was the same for the first 6 days.
Dirty pool, no lifeguard or hotel staff for the first few days, the pool depth was not marked, no visible rules, and uneven flooring. The hotel website mentions a Romagna-themed evening that we never saw. Not to mention the photos, which do not reflect the hotel at all.
A positive note is that in the last two days the cleanliness has improved a bit and there is more variety of fruit.
Staff was helpful aside from a couple of unpleasant episodes that were resolved.
The best remain the two kind and professional receptionists.
We were hoping to spend a carefree week, but instead it turned out to be a disaster; I do not recommend this hotel and I would not return.

Bad experience
My partner and I are spending the week from 08/10 to 08/17 at this hotel, which from the official website presents itself as excellent and with attention to detail, complete with photos that are always for illustrative purposes but which differ greatly from reality.
ROOM: On the day of our arrival, the room was handed over to us dirty, with 2 fingers of dust everywhere, especially on the nightstands, dirty floors full of hair and with fingernails scattered in the bathroom, so not even a simple sweep had been done.
Despite repeated complaints, for 4 consecutive days I had to go to the reception to ask for further cleaning, one day even twice in the same day. Only for 2 days was the room cleaned better, or at least they had swept it decently. As for the bathroom, every time we took a shower, the bathroom would flood completely, so much so that we had to use our flip-flops as a squeegee to prevent the room from flooding as well, even with the door frame all swollen and crumbling due to the repeated flooding. Let's not even talk about the shower enclosure, all in bad shape, full of mold, and with the faucets in the entire bathroom covered in limescale deposits.
The room in general looked bad, broken closets, poorly fixed door frames, therefore with work to be done. Having pointed them out to the manager, who seemed to have appreciated the "constructive criticism," I hope that future guests will find the room fixed without running into unpleasant surprises; in case you find them in the same condition, point it out.
DINING ROOM: the dining room has very dirty floors, plates and dishes often dirty and stained, not to mention the buffet, always the same dishes as appetizers (of dubious freshness, but this is just my opinion). As for the main courses (first and second courses), there were 2 options, one meat and one fish, which left a looooot to be desired. To satisfy our hunger, my partner and I, like other people, would dive into the baked potatoes, which at least were edible (offered as a side dish for the entire duration of the stay). As for breakfast, that too was always the same, very little choice, and the croissants were not always served properly baked. The entire experience can be documented with photos and videos.
The only 2 positive notes are the proximity to the beach and the receptionist Sara who, despite being very young, always took charge of the complaints, trying not to create further dissatisfaction among the customers.
A piece of advice, as I have already read in other reviews: bring your own cleaning products and only do half-board so that you can spend your vacation more peacefully.

An awesome week.
We stayed during the week of Ferragosto and it was terrible; poor quality food, always the same dishes, bitter cucumbers, chickpeas from a week ago served every day, canned lentils, dirt everywhere, dirty plates, flooded rooms; the health authorities should be called to check the food, never again, a week of sacrifices ruined, payment made in advance, never seen anything like it, afraid of the food?

Meh, average, meh.
* Room small, old, noisy.
*Housekeeping staff visits, incomplete work. (Family of 5, they only give us 3 towels).
*Breakfast not great at all for Italy, you have to drink your coffee out of plastic bowls (not clean at all).
*Dirty pool (damaged liner), water not clean.
*The meals are okay (but never on time), that's the positive point.

Review Hotel
Great location, the sea is very close, but there was little food choice and our room was so well, the bed was super comfortable, the room had a quite small balcony and partly not everything worked and was not so clean. The restaurants are within walking distance.
