Featuring a private beach and a swimming pool, Hotel Splendid is located right on the lakefront, just a 5-minute walk from the center of Baveno. It offers panoramic views of the mountains and Lake Maggiore.

It's a lovely hotel right on shore of the lake. Room was large and comfortable and the reception staff were very friendly.
Dinner was excellent but the breakfast was poor for the money.
We struggled getting to the hotel as there were no taxis available from Stressa station.
Overall we really enjoyed our short stay and actually enjoyed this area more than Lake Como .

The hotel has a great location, a nice beach club and beautiful territory. Unfortunately, almost everything else falls short of what you would expect given the price and the hotel’s published rating.
The breakfast is nowhere near worth €30 per person. Although the selection is quite extensive, the quality of the products is rather average and the overall offering simply does not justify the price.
The parking fee is also completely unreasonable at €25 per day. This kind of price might be understandable for visitors who are not staying at the hotel, but charging hotel guests this amount feels excessive and unfair.
The staff seems polite and friendly, but the service feels very formal and impersonal. They seem more focused on following procedures than on actually helping guests. There is very little feeling of genuine hospitality or willingness to go the extra mile.
Overall, the hotel gives the impression that it was probably a fantastic property some years ago, but that insufficient investment has been made in maintaining and upgrading it to the standard you would expect today. The location, beach club and grounds are definitely the strongest points, but unfortunately the overall experience does not match the price or the hotel’s rating.

Every single thing about our stay at Hotel Splendid was, indeed, splendid. All of the staff from the front desk to the bar to the restaurant were all so helpful and friendly, and the location cannot be beat if you are looking for a place to hangout and unwind. There is also a convenient walking path into the town of Baveno from the hotel to avoid the busiest road, as well as a shuttle stop right up the street for the Alibus that runs to Malpensa airport. The private lakefront beach is perfect for swimming and the breakfast buffet is impressive. Absolutely worth adding for your stay. I am not embarrassed to admit that, in a 4 night stay, we only ate one meal outside the hotel...the restaurant is just that good.

Professional staff, clean spacious room, Mountain View with noise from road. Terrace overlooking lake was perfect for pre dinner drinks and restaurant staff were very welcoming and helpful when deciding on food choices. Overall a good stay on the lake.

The hotel enjoys an excellent lakeside location with direct access to a private beach, making it an ideal setting for a relaxing stay. Throughout my visit, the staff were consistently friendly, professional and helpful.
The breakfast offering was of a good standard. However, the availability of additional hot dishes that could be ordered was not clearly communicated, and greater visibility of these options would enhance the guest experience.
There were two aspects that fell short of expectations. Firstly, the gym facilities require significant investment. Approximately half of the equipment was out of service, and the remaining equipment appeared dated and in need of replacement. In addition, guests are charged €12 per day to use the gym, which feels difficult to justify given the condition of the facilities.
Secondly, the hotel applies a 5% service charge to guests' bills. This is not something I have commonly encountered at hotels. I was informed that the charge is distributed directly to the staff and, given the high standard of service I received, I was happy to pay it. However, greater transparency around this charge at the outset of a guest's stay would be appreciated.
