Beautiful

Quality out of chaos
Both for the area outside of mass tourism, and for the qualities that we could appreciate such as dinner with excellent dishes on the porch, the pool with space on board for everyone, courtesy, friendliness and professionalism by all the staff and the owner (at my request they immediately went to great lengths to solve a small problem), excellent room cleaning.

Our favorite
It is located on the heights of Lago Orta, a small gem less known than its big neighbour, Lago Maggiore and other large lakes in northern Italy. Lake Orta is a few kilometers away, Lake Maggiore about 30 minutes by car.
Hotel Cortese is therefore an excellent base to explore the region, which is well worth a visit. It offers an oasis of calm after busy days.
Among the services offered by the hotel is the swimming pool for which bed linen can be rented. Bicycles can also be rented, and a fitness room is available. The hotel website does not mention this, but it also offers 2 convenient charging stations (11kW) to prepare the next leg of the trip. When, however, there are no indelicate drivers using these spaces unduly...
A pleasant garden and terrace allow you to relax outside. A lounge is available if the weather is not too good.
The room is very good and offers all facilities. The bedding is very comfortable. Particular mention for the bathroom, where the Italian shower has a wooden grating, very nice and especially safe. Air conditioning is discreet to maintain proper ventilation at night. Note however that this one does not work when you are not in the room.
The breakfast buffet offers everything you could wish for, it is very good in both choice and quality.
The hotel has a restaurant, perfectly run by a butler as competent as he is stylish. He is surrounded by a discreet and efficient team. It is complemented by an experienced sommelier who advises judiciously from an impressive wine list. This of course gives pride of place to local wines, which already allows for beautiful discoveries. The other regions of Italy are not outdone.
Note that the hotel allows a half board formula, which softens the note a little.
The staff at Hotel Cortese contribute to a very positive experience. Perfect welcome and top service. We recognized a few people we had already met 2 years ago, which made us feel a bit like home...
In the end, a very nice hotel, well located, with excellent services. A sure value on the edge of Piedmont and Lombardy. Highly recommendable!
