Fantastic Place and People
The Silk Road Hotel is worthy of your time where you can live like a sultan on the Silk Road. An outstanding and 650 year old authentic Han, this is the perfect place to enjoy yourself and relax. Experience the historic hospitality unavailable anywhere else.
Mr.Turgay and Ms. Ceyda both help make your stay easy and both are so easy to chat with in both Turkish and English. Fantastic employees.

You might think, "Let's have a coffee or a meal in this historical and touristy place," but the maintenance of the place is disappointing.
The seats are extremely dirty; if you can't clean them, at least you shouldn't have chosen light-colored seats... and the drinks tasted terrible. The flowers around it are extremely neglected, falling off, rotting, but no one is doing anything about it. The only thing we liked was the authentic atmosphere of the place itself.

Beautiful historic setting, but unfortunately not a good hotel experience
The common areas, courtyard and restaurant are beautiful, as is the surrounding historic area. Everything was clean, and the staff were responsive and flexible. When we complained about the noise, the hotel manager personally offered us another room, and staff also kindly provided towels for a day trip despite this normally being against their policy.
Unfortunately, the main problem is serious: the hotel rooms are directly adjacent to the restaurant and are not adequately soundproofed. We stayed Saturday and Sunday, and on both nights there was very loud live music until after 23:00. The volume was closer to a concert/nightclub than background restaurant music, making it impossible to rest until the performances ended. Moving us upstairs did little to solve the problem.
For the price, the rooms were disappointing. Our first room had no exterior window or view; the replacement room had only a small window overlooking the parking area. Parts of the shower didn’t work and the water temperature fluctuated constantly. Our family suite had an awkward wooden passage connecting the rooms, with a very low ceiling and a roughly 15 cm raised floor. I tripped on this and bruised my arm quite badly. In my opinion, this is a genuine safety issue that should be addressed.
Parking was full with restaurant guests when we returned at 19:30, although we later learned that the hotel offers valet parking. Breakfast was adequate but not impressive for this price level; for example, the juice/lemonade appeared to be cordial rather than fresh juice.

The building and setting are wonderful and the staff deserve credit, but ultimately a hotel must provide somewhere comfortable and safe to sleep. The extreme restaurant noise and room issues unfortunately outweigh the positives for us.

Roasted eggplant soup is legendary.
We didn't stay at the hotel; we went there for dinner. The roasted eggplant soup is delicious. We ate stuffed broad beans, hingel (a type of dumpling), and lamb shank with keşkek (a type of stew The prices are reasonable. The service is nice and clean. The amount of salt was a little too much in the stuffed broad beans. After that, the food didn't cause any problems. You absolutely must go.

Peace, history, and quality service.
I had the opportunity to stay at the Silk Road Museum Hotel (Deveciler Hanı) for a week and I was really pleased with it. The hotel's location is very central, and being right in the heart of the historical area adds an extra touch of pleasure. The concept, the atmosphere, and especially the layout of the rooms were both very stylish and extremely comfortable.
Furthermore, Ms. Nurdan's cheerful demeanor, attentiveness, and professional approach made my stay even more special. I would especially like to thank him for his hospitality.
I wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone who wants to have both a historical experience and a comfortable stay.
