Terrible Hotel

I booked my hotel through Agoda two weeks before my trip. I contacted the hotel and they confirmed that my reservation was confirmed. Two days before our trip, I contacted them again to request that our rooms be arranged to meet our needs; they said they would help. When I contacted them again after landing in Istanbul, they informed me that there had been a mistake and that we would have to stay at a different hotel for one night. I asked if the other hotel was of the same standard, but received no response.
When we arrived at the hotel, they directed us to another, extremely bad hotel. The rooms had a strong musty/mold smell, which made breathing difficult. The rooms were also very dirty (please see photos). We did not receive any assistance from the hotel. I contacted Agoda; they refunded my fee and arranged for me to book another hotel.
I do not recommend this hotel. I suggest you consider a different accommodation option instead.

Close to tram line (Beyazit Kapali Carsi) but also on a back street so quiet at night. Great location for exploring all the tourist attractions. Perfect for a few nights away. Had everything we needed. Bottles of water provided each day, room had a mini fridge and safe (free to use). Reception staff were helpful and kind. Room was a little small but clean and comfy. Would stay here again

Scam

Bad experience in this hotel, we booked a room with two beds , on arrival late at night they told us your room is with a single bed in the basement. Although our booking confirmation mentions two single beds , they refused to give us our room and forced us to pay 50€ more to have our room. The manager at the reception was very unpleasant and refused at the time of departure to give me an invoice personally on the pretext that he will send it to me by email. He finally sent me an invoice written in Turkish (price in lira) while we paid in euros and asked for an invoice in English so we could understand. The manager’s answer No , this is Turkey and we speak Turkish. It is absurd to treat your customers like this. A very bad experience, not to mention that they wanted to charge us 30€ for a small coffee stain on the sheet under the pretext that the stain does not go to the washing. We refused to pay and asked to wash the sheets ourselves. Imagine you are on holiday and we put you through all this, they managed to ruin our stay. We were afraid and we didn't know what they were capable of. I strongly advise against this property.

Only 3 staff in hotel, they were unwelcoming, unfriendly, indifferent and there was a lack of communication. At check-in they do not tell you about the hotel & it's services, like the house keeping. When we got to our room on the 5th floor, we were greeted with disgusting waft of sewage! The room they provided to us was ridiculously small fit for 1 person, even though we booked for 2 people. We could barely move in the room. The bathroom in the room was very dark & suffocating. The curtains were broken. The air conditioning was not working which resulted in a very stuffy and hot room. The next morning we were looking forward to breakfast, but we were disappointed. The breakfast area was unhygienic, small, had a depressing atmosphere. The food was terrible. There was only 1 lady that prepared breakfast & did the house keeping. She was not a nice person. She was snarky & rude. Since day 1, she had a vendetta against my partner & I. We found this out because she would not say hi when we greeted her nor would she clean our room. Our room was cleaned once during the 5 days, this was at check-in. We changed room to little bigger one with air conditioning working. We were greeted with a toilet seat with urine all over it. We reported this to the lady & she was insistent that we were lying, even when we showed her the toilet. She huffed and cleaned very aggressively. That was the last time she cleaned & provided fresh towels for us. Please don't book this hotel!
