Brilliant hotel

This hotel is bijoux and what a find ! It's within walking distance of Galata Port cruise terminal and main interests of Istanbul. Our room was clean and well appointed, not to mention huge with jacuzzi and shower . Breakfast with a view over the sunny Bosphorus was continental/ Turkish and delicious . We spent a very worrying two days prior to a cruise as BA had lost our 2 cases . One was delivered at 1 am the other we retrieved from the airport . The hotel staff went beyond their duty of care to assist us and get to the cruise on time for my husband's 80th birthday celebration. I / we are forever in their debt . So kind . I cannot recommend this hotel enough.

Huge room!
‘City view’ was overlooking a side street and opposite an abandoned building. Definitely no view of any city.
Two beds pushed together rather than a king size bed.
Only one bedside table and bedside light. No mirror with suitable lighting for applying make up

The location in Karaköy is genuinely lovely — walkable, charming, and close to everything. Unfortunately, that is where the positives end.
From the moment we arrived, our room had serious problems. Both rugs were soaking wet upon check-in, with one needing to be removed entirely. There was a persistent sewage odor throughout our stay that was never resolved.
The most serious issue: housekeeping broke the glass shower door and left shards of glass on the bathroom floor. Both my husband and I had glass embedded in our feet. Even after we reported it and staff came to clean, glass remained on the floor — we wore shoes inside our room for the rest of the stay as a basic safety measure. My husband was recovering from a medical procedure during this trip, making the disruption and unsanitary conditions especially harmful. The complimentary slippers were visibly stained and unusable.
On top of all of this, maintenance staff entered our room unannounced multiple times — a serious breach of privacy for anyone, let alone a post-surgical patient.
I want to note that the manager, Barack, was genuinely kind and personally acknowledged every single issue. He verbally expressed that a full refund was warranted. However, hotel ownership refused to honor that, which tells you everything you need to know about how this property is actually run.
I would not stay here again under any circumstances.

Exactly what we expected and exactly as advertised! The 7th Fl restaurant was outstanding! Mustafa the morning manager makes you feel like a friend! Ahmet at the front desk had everything prepared exactly as requested. Thank you all for making our visit to Istanbul so memorable! Also, the location was perfect. 10 minute walk to the port for cruise ships. 5 minute walk to catch the ferry to the Asian side of Istanbul and other places. HIGHLY recommend!!!

Good hotel in a great location. Make sure to take a room on a high floor as it is loud until midnight outside. We asked for several things at check-in but due to staff shift change nothing was delivered. However, otherwise, staff at the front desk was helpful and staff at breakfast was incredibly friendly.
