Misleading Accessibility Info and Unacceptable Attitude – Avoid This Hotel!!

Misleading Accessibility Info and Unacceptable Attitude – Avoid This Hotel!!
I booked this hotel in advance for myself and my three sisters through the app. One of the main
reasons we chose this property was its listing, which stated that the hotel had an elevator — a
crucial feature since two of my sisters have medical conditions that prevent them from climbing
stairs.
However, upon arrival, we discovered that although there is an elevator, it can only be reached
after climbing 8–10 steep stone steps with no handrails. This made the elevator completely
inaccessible for my sisters, defeating the purpose of booking this hotel.
When I explained the situation to the hotel owner, he was rude and dismissive. He told me it
wasn’t his problem and that he didn’t care about guests’ health conditions. I pointed out that the
listing failed to mention the stairs leading to the elevator, and he responded by saying he didn’t
think such details were important.
Because of this, I had to cancel the booking and spend hours walking around Istanbul trying to
find alternative accommodation. To make matters worse, the owner charged me for a late
cancellation — despite the fact that the listing was misleading and lacked essential accessibility
information.
No guest should be treated with such disregard. The owner’s attitude was unacceptable, and I
hope this review helps others avoid the same experience.

Avoid This Hotel – Misleading Information and Unprofessional Conduct

Avoid This Hotel – Misleading Information and Unprofessional Conduct
I want to share my experience to warn other travelers. I booked this hotel well in advance and clearly stated in my message that I would be staying with my three young children. The hotel initially responded saying an extra bed was available, but later insisted I rebook a larger room at a higher price.
I replied asking for clarification about the additional charges, but received no response. After several attempts, I sent a final message confirming our arrival and expecting the issue to be resolved. Upon arrival in Istanbul, the owner claimed he hadn’t seen any of my emails and informed me — on the day of check-in — that everything would cost more. By then, it was too late to cancel.
When I explained the situation, he was rude and dismissive, saying it wasn’t his problem. As a result, I was forced to walk around Istanbul with three children under the age of 10 to find another hotel. To make matters worse, he charged me for a late cancellation.
This was an extremely stressful and disappointing experience. The hotel provided misleading information, failed to communicate, and treated us with complete disregard. There are many better options in Istanbul — choose a place where your needs will be respected and your booking honored.
I hope this review helps others avoid the same mistake. No family should have to go through this.

Terrible experience

I don't even know where to start.... When we entered the room we wanted to shower after 12 hours of travel, well in the tub there were other people’s hair and hair. The toilet cup was dirty and to pee I had to disinfect everything with the amuchina, when we asked to send someone to clean we were told that we would have to wait for the cleaning lady the following day, after more than an hour of discussions, when we asked for the money of the stay back they sent a guy to clean. The room was old and sketchy, air conditioning and TV not working. The room on Booking appeared to have a terrace while the terrace is a common place for all guests. The quality of the breakfast poor to say the least, we only used it 1 time. The claustrophobic elevator has only one wing of the hotel from the first floor (called floor zero, but to get there you had to climb narrow and very steep stairs, absolutely not suitable for children, the elderly or disabled. The very strange receptionist, followed my friend and I through the lobby cameras. The penultimate night we went to the room of two friends to help them pack and the receptionist called us 5/6 times via the phone of the room to tell us to leave that room because being a “family hotel” we were not allowed to stay in that room, which is unheard of even for the boys (of Turkish origin). Almost non-existent wifi in most areas of the hotel. In short, what is salvageable is only the terrace, the location and the younger guys (around 18 years) of the staff who tried to make us feel comfortable after the different complaints.
I attach photos of the poor conditions of the room and bathroom!

Very bad !

I had a terrible experience at this hotel. The value for money was extremely poor – it was far too expensive for what was offered. The rooms were small and some items were broken. The only positive aspect was the lovely lady who prepared breakfast; she was truly delightful. Overall, it was a very bad experience and I wouldn't recommend staying here.

I Would STRONGLY Caution You Against This Hotel

As an avid traveler, I've stayed in various accommodations across the globe, but my recent experience at Hurriyet Hotel left me utterly disappointed. Despite the promising photos online, the reality was far from what was advertised.
First and foremost, the hotel looked nothing like the polished images displayed on the net. Instead of a welcoming and well-maintained establishment, I was greeted with a grimy lobby and unkempt corridors. The cleanliness of the entire premises was questionable at best, with dirt and dust accumulating in corners and on surfaces.
Moreover, the condition of the rooms was appalling. Fixtures like shelves were on the verge of collapse, hanging of the wall in the bathroom, and the overall hygiene standards were subpar. It was evident that maintenance and fixing was sorely lacking, contributing to a sense of discomfort and dissatisfaction throughout my stay.
The most alarming aspect of my visit was the persistent disturbance caused by loud, violent banging on one. of the rooms on 3 separate occasions. I couldn't understand the language they were yelling. This disruption not only deprived me of much-needed rest but also raised concerns about the safety and security measures in place at the hotel.
Located in an overcrowded area, the noise pollution was incessant. Even the supposedly serene rooftop, which could have offered respite from the chaos below, was left unkept and unwelcoming. Weird, old mismatched furniture.
Adding to the overall sense of unease was the presence of numerous unidentified men loitering around the management and reception area. This made female guests like myself feel very uncomfortable and vulnerable, casting serious doubt on the safely. A bunch of guys hanging out, could be cultural but when you're watching and commenting on the female guests coming and going, it's SCARY. Worse was that 2 men came up to the receptionist as he was dealing with me and said something about a room number. Then the Receptionist asked me "are you in 207?" I said no. What the h is going on here?
In conclusion, my experience at Hurriyet Hotel was nothing short of a nightmare. From the misleading photos to the dismal cleanliness standards, persistent disturbances, and unsettling atmosphere, and most of all sheer terror - it fell far below expectations. I would strongly advise against choosing this establishment for your accommodation needs, as it fails to deliver even the most basic requirements of a comfortable and secure stay.
