Excellent, new luxury cave/stone hotel, ideal central location, superb breakfast, very friendly staff.
There is such a multitude of cave hotels to choose from in Goreme, that you will feel as lost and overwhelmed as we were when you try to find "the right one". MARE CAPPADOCIA (from the mare traditional female cappadocian horses and not the Italian sea) is a relatively new luxury hotel, featuring both cave rooms and "stone" rooms/suites. I am not a big fan of either, as they most lack windows or any view and regardless what they tell you they are in any hotel you go, pretty damp. MARE management was kind enough to upgrade us to the junior stone suite from a superior room, that was quite impressive: modern, spacious, tall vaulted ceilings, nice artificial lighting, huuuge bathroom and shower, clean, the works, no complaint but a ...view. The hotel is modern and clean, the bedding was excellent, housekeeping is tops (you have to ask for it), overall was very quiet, the staff was super-friendly and courteous, tending immediately to our every need. Its location is absolutely optimal as it is a bit (300 m) off the beaten path from the very noisy center of Goreme, that makes it really ideal if you add that overall there is easy parking around it! The tour-de-force is the free sumptuous breakfast served at the beautiful breakfast room upstairs with a panoramic 270 degree view of Goreme and the fairy-chimneys in front of it, with light pleasant piano music in the background :) Every day the breakfast menu changes slightly with new home made tastes, Ahmet who serves being always super kind and efficient to take your custom order of eggs, refill your plates with additional fare you have gorged and keep the coffee going. Coffee is really good (is my personal indicator of a good hotel) and abundant. I cannot forget to mention Enes and Ayrun at the reception who really helped us navigate and provided us with numerous concierge services, recommendations, etc. Not to mention hydrate us daily, as the hotel provides you with bottled water! BTW through MARE CAPPADOCIA we got a major discount for our balloon ride with TURQUOISE BALLOONS! A few suggestions, drawbacks: our room was super hot! And damp as I feared. Despite the fact that they claimed the heating was off, the floor (heating) was still warm to the touch which made nights challenging at 25 C room temp as we had to a/c with the heating (off?) and only a very small window to open! Also we could hear a minor humming noise that was quite annoying at night, we were told it was the bathroom vents... Finally the hotel lacks any sort of common sitting area/living room one would expect from a 5-star. As it rained several days during our visit, we had no place to sit and look outside after dark, meet with the group discuss next day plans, other than our view-less rooms. Maybe the hotel should open the breakfast room at night for guests to sit and have a drink... The view is definitely worth it. The other thing that is odd about MARE is that they do not accept debit cards! They only accept CREDIT cards for direct bookings (that have benefits). In years of travel, is the first hotel I encounter with this particular policy, be warned. Closing, I have to admit we had a great time, left very happy with our stay, thank you MARE staff (Ahmet, Ayrun, Enes) for a wonderful stay, we highly recommend MARE CAPPADOCIA for your stay too, book directly from their site.

Excellent stay at the Mare Cappadocia
The setting is magnificent and the location is absolutely ideal: the hotel is very beautiful, located close to everything while offering a very appreciable quiet environment.
The cleanliness of the premises is impeccable, the breakfast is of very high quality, and all the services offered are impeccable. But what makes all the difference is the team: an incredible staff, particularly attentive, warm, and always taking great care to make the stay unforgettable.
An address that I recommend with my eyes closed and where I will return with great pleasure!

Great hotel in a prime location. We were lucky enough to receive early check-in and a complimentary room upgrade upon arrival (we also traveled during the low season). The hotel is very new, and the room was beautifully renovated and decorated. It’s not a large hotel, which gives it a cosy and welcoming feel. The location is ideal, right in the central “flat” part of Göreme, perfect for anyone who prefers to avoid walking uphill when returning to their hotel. The staff are extremely friendly, attentive, and helpful. Breakfast is fabulous and plentiful. Nothing to complain about.

The best hotel in a magical location. LOVED IT ALL!!
What an amazing experience!! It is difficult to express what a wonderful time we had over the 11 days we stayed in this hotel. As soon as we arrived we were greeted by the kindest and friendliest welcome. Especially by Ahmed (thank you for the beers!) and Barak who gave us so much attention and information. The location was brilliant as we were only 5 mins from the centre of Goreme but away from the noise and bustle so really peaceful. The views from the terrace and pool were stunning. Great views of the hot ir balloons and scenery. The room was spacious and a lot of open spaces in the hotel. The pool was a dream . However, i have to leave the best until last. The BEST BREAKFAST EVER!! Absolutely all cooked to order, fresh fruit, veg, pastry, bread and so many ‘other’ delicious treats. Ahmed usually served us and was always so helpful and giving, an exceptional person. I would like to thank the whole team. We had the perfect stay and would recommend to 100% and hope to return one day!

Amazing staff
The hotel is truly amazing, and the staff are exceptionally kind and attentive. I would especially like to thank Ahmet, who provides service in the mornings — he is incredibly polite, friendly, and highly professional.
The rooms are very clean, well-organized, and comfortable. The overall atmosphere of the hotel is relaxing and peaceful, making you feel right at home. Every detail is thoughtfully taken care of, which makes the stay even more enjoyable.
I would definitely recommend this hotel without hesitation. It’s a place I would happily return to again.
