Great service and very clean rooms
I had to shift from another accommodation which was not clean at all, Nancy was very helpful to assist us and we booked the rooms on spot, thanks to Nancy and Catherine who made our stay very comfortable and there amazing service. The hotel is very clean and cozy.

Welcoming, friendly staff and a fabulous hotel
Our stay at Samawa Living has been outstanding. The staff are so welcoming and go out of their way to smile and greet us- they made us feel very much at home. The rooms are comfortable and spotless, they are a joy to stay in. The beds all have mosquito nets and the rooms are sprayed in the evening to be sure (not that we saw many mosquitoes on the island anyway, maybe the wind helps with that). The shower and bath are clean and the water is hot.
The restaurant menu is delicious and the wellness centre (gym, yoga studio) is well maintained. The pool is also spotless with lovely seating around.
Being British I was initially worried when I realised they don’t serve alcohol but DON’T WORRY, you can consume your own and there is a wine/liquor store just over the road, so no need to stress (and it makes it cheaper too!) .
Overall I strongly recommend this hotel, we really love it!

Samawa Living experience
We had a fantastic time at Samawa! The property is gorgeous, intimate, and perfectly located just a short stroll from the beach. The rooms are beautiful, the food is fresh and delicious, and the wellness-focused atmosphere is so relaxing. A huge thank you to the wonderful staff—specifically to Kadogo, who was so incredibly helpful during our stay and made sure we were always well taken care of. If you are looking for a beautiful boutique hotel with outstanding hospitality in Zanzibar, this is the place to book!

I had an absolutely wonderful stay at this hotel in Paje, and I honestly can’t recommend it highly enough. From the moment I arrived, the staff were truly amazing—warm, friendly, and incredibly attentive. They went above and beyond to make sure every part of my stay was comfortable and enjoyable. Their genuine kindness and professionalism made me feel completely at home, and I can confidently say the hospitality here is the best I have ever experienced.

Every detail has clearly been thought through, from the cozy bedding to the tasteful décor. It’s the kind of place where you can fully relax and recharge, whether you’re staying for a short visit or a longer getaway.
