The Utengule Coffee Lodge is a great place to unwind, before or after a long road trip. The food is lovely, plenty of drinks choices, and the staff courteous and attentive. Breakfast on the lawn overlooking the Rift Valley is a must, together with a couple of giraffes! Rooms are basic but comfortable, and the beds perfect for a good night's rest.
I have visited a few times, and feel the weight of the world disappearing when I arrive.

Terrific Location/Camp site with fabulous Sunset Vista

We were on an Epic self-drive Trans-Africa Overland adventure heading here from Iringa, seeking a good night's rest before the Final push to Tunduma & the scourge of Border-Crossings.
Drive proved longer and tougher than envisaged - my fault.
What a revelation this place proved. I really did not know what to expect, but the Lady on the phone was so charming, and it was ideally positioned for Tunduma etc, so Go for it.
Parked-up on the Heli Pad (Yes there really is one), safe, flat, secure, inside Gates, next to Tennis & Squash Courts & ablutions.
Restaurant and Bar were just up a few steps from the Heli-pad (Yes we opted for both - someone else's turn) - positioned alongside an array of rooms - it is a Hotel afterall.
Fabulous sunset finished the evening off beautifully.
Good value-for-money. Highly recommended (We were not Hotel Guests - just Campers, to be quite clear & that explains why we had so many 'Unsures' on the Qs)

Prijzig, maar luxe!

We zijn er alleen op bezoek geweest, omdat we hoorden over de mooie ligging en de koffieplantage. Vanuit de lodge een tour gedaan over de koffieplantage (aanrader!) en daarna nog in de lodge gegeten. Prima (Westers) eten, tegen een relatief hoge prijs. Wel een erg mooi uitzicht. Vanwege de afgelegen locatie moesten we een bachacha laten komen, die hebben ze voor ons geregeld. Prima service.

Prachtig gelegen, schitterende kamer, personeel enorm vriendelijk en behulpzaam, heerlijk vers eten, fijn zwembad, mooie tuin.
