The room was big, need to climb stairs to get in the room, was difficult to carry heavy luggage, but many hotels at Qing Jing are like that , so it’s okay, just take note on that. There is water dispenser available near our room. The breakfast was great. There is no view from our room (wooden house) but there’s a stunning view outside the dining place. Overall it’s a satisfied experience.

The views! Not a bad choice

It might be old and a bit rickety but we had a great stay, maybe we got lucky. Had a very big room with a balcony facing a fantastic mountain view. Staff were all smiles, Food ok, not more. Views from platforms are magificent. Well, that’s all folks.

Vile - never again!

I would rather sleep in the surrounding forest than in this vile B&B. It was old, dirty and falling apart with no attention to maintenance whatsoever (mould, dust and wallpaper falling off). Bed was so hard it felt like a torture chamber. Had to lug luggage up slippery stairs to the room I was staying in. Whilst there was plenty of hot water in the shower, there is no screen or curtain, so the water flies across the floor, walls, handbasin and toilet. I had to use the spare towel to wipe everything down. There was no complimentary bottled water, which every other place I stayed at in Taiwan offered. We were told not to drink the tap water and had to go to a nearby shop to buy bottled water. I think the icing on the cake was the hideous breakfast the next morning. There were no Western options, not even an egg to be seen. I had two pieces of toast and a coffee, but there were a few cooked Asian meals, but I would not eat them for breakfast. I took one item to try and it was cold. I am surprised there are no recent reviews of this place. The only person who might stay here is a local traveller who is used to something so basic, but even a backpacker would find this place vile.

Substandard room with NO view

We arrived at the hotel after dark and in the pouring rain. The only way to our room on the second floor was up wooden stairs which had become wet and slippery. It was very difficult trying to negotiate the steps while holding onto our luggage. The rooms were large and spacious, but with the bare minimum in each room. The bathrooms, while clean, were old and tired looking and reminded me of a changing room in a public swimming pool. There was no shower curtain separating the shower receptacle from the rest of the bathroom leading to the entire bathroom becoming wet while showering. The towels were thin and had seen better days but served the purpose. There was no tea or coffee facilities to speak of, and while there was a jug, there was no water provided. The rooms are cold with no heating; however, each bed was provided with an electric blanket to help with the cold.
Breakfast was a horrific experience. There was no signage as to what on offer at the buffet, and while there was a variety of dishes displayed, they all appeared unappetizing and were tepid. There was staff standing by the door who acted more like prison guards rather than hosts supervising the guests ensuring that we cleared away our own plates and dishes.
While the hotel is close to Cingjing farm, which is the reason we stayed here, it offers little else. It is in the middle of nowhere but there is a 7-Eleven about one kilometer down the road which is the only saving grace.
I would not recommend staying here as it is really a second rate hostel and by no means worthy of the word "villa" in the name.
