Terrible experience
I contacted the hotel by phone simply to make a reservation. However, the first staff member who answered my call could not understand what I was explaining. When I informed her that I am a Marriott Bonvoy member, she told me to make the reservation by myself and stated that this was the only way to obtain the member rate. This response was both unhelpful and unreasonable.
What made the situation even more frustrating was that the call was then transferred to a second staff member, Rowena. While she was able to better understand my request, she also insisted—after I confirmed with her multiple times—that she could only offer me a non-member rate. She repeated this explanation three times and stated that this was the hotel’s policy.
As a Titanium Elite member, I regularly book rooms through the Marriott Bonvoy app. However, there are occasions when I am unavailable and need to make a reservation by phone. Being told that member rates cannot be honored via phone reservations is, quite frankly, ridiculous and completely inconsistent with my expectations of Marriott’s service standards.
This experience was extremely disappointing and does not reflect the level of service or recognition that loyal elite members should receive. I sincerely hope this matter will be reviewed and addressed to prevent similar experiences for other members in the future.
