A stay full of warmth and well-being
I had an all-around wonderful stay at the Glarnerhof. I was particularly touched by the massage with László. The respective needs were addressed with a lot of empathy and great mindfulness. His treatment was profound - you can feel his great experience, his presence, and his sincere dedication to his work. His wonderful wife also offers massages together with him. Both are warm, loving, and full of kindness - I can wholeheartedly recommend this wonderful couple to everyone. A big compliment also goes to the entire service/hotel staff. All staff members were exceptionally warm, friendly, and attentive. The warm and personal atmosphere made my stay something very special. Many heartfelt thanks to the entire team - I would love to come back anytime!

Once and never again
A big disappointment for a trip celebrating a birthday, as the hotel is to be rated as insufficient on practically all levels:
When checking in, we had to wait about 15 minutes, even though we had rung 2-3 times. Finally, an employee appeared with a drink in her hand and had great difficulty checking in our three booked rooms.
The booked double room should have been a Superior double room, but unfortunately did not correspond to the booked category, although the booking had been made in person in advance. The room was definitely too small for two people and, furthermore, we were not made aware when booking that a loud festival would be taking place across the street in the Volksgarten for several days and that no parking spaces would be available. Although we requested confirmation of the booking by email, we never received it.
The rooms do not have a refrigerator.
One of the single rooms we booked was not cleaned one day; the bed was merely arranged neatly. I received a drink voucher for the complaint.
The breakfast was generally okay, but at 8:30 a.m., various food items were only available upon request. Breakfast time is until 10:00 a.m.
It should be highlighted as a positive that dogs are very warmly welcomed at the hotel and no charge is made for their stay either.
Furthermore, we had dinner at the hotel twice; the food was very good and we were served by a Chinese woman who was highly competent and very friendly. She is a gem.
Since we are partly from the Glarus region ourselves, we are quite disappointed with the current state of this formerly magnificent hotel and the poor price-performance ratio. For our next stay, we will book a different hotel.

The room was much larger than expected and very comfortable. The hotel is located by the train station and as a result there is some traffic noise, but not during the night.

Good location but air up
The location right next to the train station is great, the price ok and the room well equipped. However, day curtains are missing, because depending on the room you have the full view from the neighboring buildings. The breakfast buffet is presented rather unlovingly and the quality of the bread could be better. The beautiful old dining room is not attractively decorated and the decoration with plastic flowers looks shabby. Please also the Christmas decoration (a parcel trolley) , which is still in the aisle in the 2nd floor. Stick standing around, remove. It would need a little more love and an eye for detail in this hotel.
