Flawless Sanctuary That Saved Our Vacation

Our trip to Whitefish—our base camp for exploring Glacier National Park—started on a rough note at another local property. After a highly unsatisfactory first night elsewhere, we checked out early, and the Larch House graciously stepped in to accommodate us. From that moment on, our experience was nothing short of fabulous.
The turnaround began the second we met Lauren at the front desk, whose exceptional hospitality set the tone for the rest of our stay. The team even provided us with a room upgrade that absolutely exceeded our expectations. Every single detail of the property is immaculate and thoughtful: the stunning decor, the incredibly comfortable bed and high-quality sheets, the luxury of heated bathroom floors, floor-to-ceiling windows, and even subtle, high-end touches like leather-wrapped handrails.
Their grab-and-go breakfast easily outperforms what you would expect from a standard hotel offering, but the real culinary highlight was their on-site restaurant, ENGA. We had originally planned to head into town for dinner, but after stopping in for a few incredible appetizers, we completely changed our plans. We ended up dining there two nights in a row. It is upscale, sophisticated dining that I did not expect to find in Whitefish—what an absolute treat!
From start to finish, our stay was fantastic. The Larch House turned a potential vacation disaster into a memorable, world-class experience. We cannot recommend this property highly enough!

Nice but way overpriced
If the rooms had been $350, I would have given it 4 or 5 stars. Paying $750 a night left me feeling like a chump. The hotel was nice and the rooms were well styled. For the price, I would have expected a better breakfast. Mini burritos, mini breakfast sandwiches, a bowl of fruit and chobani yogurt was a disappointment but only because of the room price. It pained me that breakfast was included but we went elsewhere every morning. They are still landscaping the place, I think in order to hide the dumpsters next door. There were landscapers working right outside our door. All of these grievances feel petty to me but for the price of the room, in Montana. This was not a luxury hotel.

We provide a complimentary breakfast which our guests enjoy sorry it did not meet your expectations. The scheduled landscaping work outside your room was to beautify the property and the limit the impact of being in a downtown location. Super disappointing
My husband and I booked a last minute trip to Montana for our 20th wedding anniversary last month and I was excited to discover The Larch House. Even though we would not typically spend $800/night on a hotel- we do have three kids we gotta put through college!- we decided to splurge since it was a special occasion. The room was well decorated and the rooftop hot tub was nice- but that's about it. The service was far below what I've experienced at other luxury hotels. At Larch House you have to make a special request for daily housekeeping, and even then they did not take out the garbage or replace the glassware the entire time we were there! We used the same dirty glasses over and over. But I think the thing that really put it over the top for me was the fact that our room opened out onto a parking lot and alley, requiring us to walk past a row of dumpsters reeking of garbage in order to access our room. On our last morning there, I was driven out of bed at 8am by a roaring sanitation truck pumping sewage right outside our door. Like, what?!?! For $800 a night?? We felt like a total chumps. I've been fortunate to stay in some pretty fabulous places over the years, and sadly this was definitely not one of them.

Beautiful hotel, with friendly and helpful staff and great location. Only ‘issue’ was the rooftop pool wasn’t open due to a leak- but great other than that!

Exceptional stay in Whitefish
Absolutely beautiful hotel. The design is elegant and refined, the rooms are spacious and very comfortable, and the service is top-notch. The staff is incredibly friendly and welcoming, making the entire experience feel special. The restaurant and bar were exceptional, with delicious food and perfectly crafted cocktails. Highly recommended stay in an excellent location .
