Absolutely positively wonderful.....
We spent four nights at this incredible property, during our first visit to Texas Hill Country. We had initially booked two nights but added two more as we immediately realized how special a place this was. We were looking for a peaceful getaway with our dog after a family tragedy, and this resort not only exceeded our expectations but also healed us with its serene and spiritual setting, extraordinary views, immaculate treehouse unit, and unparalleled pool and hot tub experience overlooking the hills. The unit was perfect for our 10-month-old puppy as she had a private lawn space and enclosed deck, which proved to be her favorite spot to watch squirrels and deer. The kitchen was perfectly equipped for our needs, the bed comfortable, and the bathroom was lovely with its rain shower. Boxed chocolates were sweetly gifted to us on our pillows. Charming Wimberley was a 5-minute drive from our tree house with so many fabulous eateries, shops, and outdoor seating that both catered to our dog, and also provided great spaces to enjoy a margarita or a cold glass of Rose on a warm evening. Robert the property manager was incredibly helpful and kind to us during our stay. Our favorite memories were floating in the infinity pool, sitting on the patio sipping coffee or a cocktail, and morning coffee in the private hot tub. So many beautiful core memories in this uniquely beautiful setting. We would love to visit again one day.
PS-Be sure to have dinner at Long Leaf. Chef Rob prepared outstanding cuisine including the grilled sweet potato salad and those delicious fried olives!!!!

Beautiful views, wouldn't stay here again
This was my first time staying here, so I was beyond excited. The view from the cabin itself was glorious, from sunset to sunrise. They also allowed me to use the pool a little early before check-in, which was nice. When I checked in, my coffee maker and microwave weren't working. Someone came within 10 minutes to fix the breaker, which I appreciated. Then I went to heat up some water and noticed the kettle had not been cleaned out from the previous guest. Finally, when I opened up the hot tub—which runs on and off all night, just FYI—there were long black hairs matted to the side. It felt like, for paying this price, certain basic things weren't taken care of or cleaned. Just a note: the cabins are private and the trees are nicely placed for privacy, but if you have loud talkative neighbors and want to enjoy the views quietly, that's a possibility. I also expressed some of this when Expedia asked me how my check-in was and sent feedback, but no one responded.

Amazing place to celebrate wedding anniversary! Quiet, cozy, and luxurious. Loved how much we connected with nature, away from all traffic and noise. Would definitely be coming back! The hot tub was very clean and I loved that we were able to adjust the temperature as high as we wanted. Very spacious, perfect for dog owners.

Beautiful but…
Our stay at Onera Wimberley was pleasant overall. The cottage was beautifully designed, the pool was refreshing, and we truly appreciated the stunning views and secluded atmosphere of the property. Those features made for a relaxing and memorable getaway.
Unfortunately, our experience was overshadowed by issues with cleanliness and pest control. The first night was completely problem-free, but during our second night, we discovered several small bugs crawling beneath the bed sheets, which was both unsettling and disappointing. We also found a large dead spider in the corner near the sliding glass door, and to make matters worse, I was bitten by a fire ant while sleeping.
I understand that the property is located in a natural setting, and encountering insects outdoors is to be expected. However, finding bugs in the bed and inside the cottage is a different matter, especially when paying approximately $700 for a two-night stay after taxes. At that price point, I expected a much higher standard of cleanliness and attention to detail.
What was most disappointing was the response after I brought these concerns to the property’s attention. I was simply told they were sorry and that they would address the issue for future guests. While I appreciate their intention to prevent this from happening again, the response did little to acknowledge or remedy the experience we had already endured. An apology alone did not feel adequate given the circumstances. Customer service should not only focus on preventing future issues but also on making things right for the guests who were directly affected.
Overall, Onera Wimberley has a great deal to offer, and with better attention to cleanliness and a more guest-focused approach to resolving issues, it could provide an exceptional experience. Unfortunately, the pest issues and the lack of a meaningful resolution left us disappointed.
