Solid Marriott Property in a great location
This hotel is fantastic. My family and I had a great stay for 2 nights. The rooms were clean, and it was nice that one floor is dog-friendly. The staff members were so kind and helpful, especially Isaac, David, and Brenda. There was a slight issue that was addressed immediately, and the stay was very smooth. I plan to go to Providence frequently, and this is now my go-to spot. There were also so many dining locations near the hotel as well.

Disappointed stay
A disappointing stay
We stayed at the Courtyard Providence Downtown from August 28th to September 2nd. We had stayed here a few years ago and didn’t have particularly good memories of the hotel, but after seeing the renovated rooms on the website, we decided to give it another try, expecting some improvement.
As a party of four, we needed a larger room and unfortunately ended up in one of the non-renovated rooms. The difference was quite disappointing. The bathroom still has an old-style bathtub and, more importantly, virtually no storage or counter space for toiletries. We actually ended up having to keep some of them on the floor.
There were also several smaller things that added to the disappointment. This is the only Bonvoy hotel we have stayed at where there was no complimentary fresh coffee or tea available in the reception area. The laundry facilities were also surprisingly expensive, around double what we recently paid at comparable hotels in the Boston/Somerville area.
The reception and common areas could also use some attention, as the décor feels tired and doesn’t give the impression of a recently refreshed property.
On the positive side, the location is excellent. The hotel is very central, within easy walking distance of restaurants and the mall, and has convenient access to the beautiful Providence Riverwalk. For exploring downtown Providence on foot, the location is definitely one of the hotel’s strongest points.
One other issue was the noise during the weekend. This is obviously not entirely within the hotel’s control, but the neighborhood was extremely noisy until very late at night, making it genuinely difficult to sleep.
Overall, the location is a real advantage, but considering the Marriott name and the impression given by the renovated rooms shown online, we expected a better experience. Perhaps the renovated rooms offer a very different stay, but unfortunately ours felt dated and in need of some attention.

Fire management
I’ve been a director for a Fortune 200 service-related company. I would have fired my management for incompetence and lack of customer service like I received at this hotel.
Service was advertised as happening every second day here. We returned at a little before noon to see the service cart at the room next to ours, so we went to the lobby to wait for our turn. When we got back to the room at 1:30, the next room was being serviced. I asked the maid to do ours and she told me we weren’t on the list. I went to the lobby and explained the situation to the helpful desk clerk. He said he’d take care of it. We remained in the lobby working until 2:30.
When we returned to the room, it still had not been serviced. I returned to the front desk and approached the desk clerk again. Another gentleman who I later identified as David Alvarado identified himself as the manager. I explained to him the situation, told him we were leaving for a wedding at 3:00, and explained I expected our room to be serviced before we needed to change clothes at 2:45. He all but rolled his eyes at me.
We changed clothes at 2:45 without hearing from anyone and left out trash and towels in the hall. When we returned at 10:00, we found towels in a bag and our trash can by the door.
While I am not Marriotts’s best customer, I am a member and choose the brand when I travel. I have never experienced such callous, customer-antagonistic management in almost 50 years of business travel. I would not accept this behavior from any manager who worked for me and I hope Marriott does not, either.
Addendum. We are now trying to sleep on a Sunday night and the music outside is so loud it is shaking our bed. I don’t recommend the south side of the building.

This Marriot is what you expect of a Marriot . Clean, modern, functional. How ever our experience wasn't the best,
The checking took at least 15min because we had to change computers twice just to get the keys and parking pass.
This location is downtown near the highway but the windows are not insulated as you expect. Even on the 5th floor you get all the noise of the tracficc which it doesn't slowdown until like 2am.
Our checking was at 12pm and around 11:20 a housekeeper just opened our door. How they don't know who is in and whobis out.
Then around 2:30am someone knock on our door and then said wrong door. When we told this to front desk. She was not concerned, she said that their system was down and they were checking which rooms were empty (at 2 AM) she said some people got that like that was a reason for us to accept that.
Then y he TV turn on around the same time. So we got woken up for the 2nd time.
So all this technology just gave us a bad night sleep. And at the end of the day that's all we want from a hotel.

Stayed here a work trip. The hotel was quiet and clean. Parking was easy and the hotel itself was is a convenient location.
