Sets the B&B Standard

This was one of the best B&B experiences I've ever had.
I can't remember any B&B setting nicer than this one: Sitting on that porch overlooking the beach was about as tranquil as it gets. The evening happy hour with wine, freshly baked cookies and hors d'oeuvres was heaven on Earth, and the breakfast the following morning was also a delight. Something for everyone!
Our room was comfortable and clean. The inn is just a six- or seven-minute walk from the ferry and close to all the shops and restaurants. And best of all was our host, Sabrina, who prepared great meals, took the time to help with sightseeing plans, spent time -- a lot of time -- with everyone and was a constant cheerful presence. So often at B&Bs, you see the innkeeper once or twice and feel like you're alone to fend for yourself, but here you truly feel like you're staying with friends or family.
A-plus experience, and we'll definitely be back!

A pleasant diversion

We loved it here. Our stay was peaceful and relaxing. Rocking chairs on the porch and Adirondack chairs by the firepit overlooked a beautiful view of the harbor, where we watched the ferry passing by. After biking the Block Island hills, the afternoon happy hour was delightful and delicious. Sabrina and Joann were helpful and accommodating. The place is a short walk from the ferry. Open the gate and take a quiet morning stroll on the beach, or sit on the porch and gaze out at the view. I wish we didn't have to leave early. We will definitely be back.

Clean and quiet with great views and a good value with included breakfast and wine and cheese in afternoon. Super views from 2nd floor

Lovely inn

The Avonlea Inn is a beautiful historic bed-and-breakfast offering stunning views and exceptionally comfortable accommodations. We have also stayed at the Blue Dory Inn, which is owned by the same proprietor, and had an equally wonderful experience there.
The hospitality was outstanding, and Sabrina, the innkeeper, went above and beyond to make our stay memorable. Her warmth, attentiveness, and genuine care for her guests truly set this property apart.
If you're looking for a quaint, charming, and relaxing place to stay on Block Island, I highly recommend the Avonlea Inn. It's a perfect blend of comfort, character, and exceptional service with amazing views.

Avonlea is just perfect!

We come to Avonlea every May right before Memorial Day, it’s become our annual girls trip. This is our third year and we just love this place. The location right on the ocean can’t be beat, the end keeper Sabrina is amazing! You get breakfast every morning that she makes herself and is delicious. There’s a little happy hour every day at 5 o’clock with wine and hors d’oeuvres. Coffee is brewing all day. Tea is available all day. It’s just like the best place. Can’t recommend enough.
