We were staying in town for the Lainey Wilson concert at the state fair. Check in was great and as busy as they were it was smooth and everyone so friendly. We were able to take the shuttle with other fair goers and the drivers were awesome. It was so nice that they offered that service. We would definitely stay again for the fair.

Good Marriott property in a central Des Moines downtown location

This is a comfortable hotel that is a good quality and a good price. The rooms are large, well maintained, have the standard Marriott amenities. The bathrooms are small but have walk-in showers that are spacious and clean.
It is conveniently located on the downtown elevated skywalk, so you can easily reach many offices or other downtown locations without going outside.
The on-site restaurant, Mash and Marrow, was average and overpriced. I ordered shrimp for my pasta dish and got 5 small shrimp added. For an extra $12. The churros for dessert were delicious.
If you want a hotel shuttle to/from the airport, they only run once an hour at most times so it is a reasonable price (cheaper than uber or a taxi) but the timing is not very convenient.

Parking was a bit spendy but worth it, staff was attentive and helpful, lovely area plenty to do

Everything was great from the moment we pulled in.
Valet staff were super helpful.
Front desk greeted us and got us check in efficiently.
The room and hotel fell really clean and modern. Room was bright and spacious.
We don’t eat but did grab drinks. They have a nice selection of wine and cocktails

You have to pay for pretty much all the amenities. The nearest parking garage is a block away and no complimentary breakfast. What a waste!
